2 Fremont Meetup Questions: Lunch or Dinner? In-N-Out or Five Guys?

Good morning everyone, I am trying to finalize the details of my Bay Area Meetup, located in Fremont, CA this Saturday (February 7).  I have done a few meetups in SoCal, so I know that most people can make Saturday afternoon or Saturday evening and meeting up at a “fast food” burger restaurant makes paying for meals super easy.  No more splitting the bill 10+ ways.

This is a map showing the 2 restaurant locations and other points of interest like Toys R Us for the kids and Target for the adults :)

Fremont In-N-Out

I will announce the final details on Thursday evening.  I will also hold several other Bay Area meetups, so don’t worry if you cannot make it to Fremont this Saturday.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone!

Hehe TRU is no longer just for kids, apparently ;) I LOVE that it’s often located right next to a Target! I noticed that was the case for Emeryville & Dublin too.

By the way, a few options for future reference that might be good for groups to pay individually are: Chipotle, Habit, Freebirds, and a local East Bay favorite called Gotta Eatta Pita (it’s like Chipotle for Mediterranean food, and my Israeli friends say they have some of the most authentic couscous and falafels in the Bay Area).

Aw darn, just voted and saw that it looks like everyone want lunch. Unfortunately, I thought this was going to be a dinner event so I made lunch plans with a group already. :( I was looking forward to meeting fellow enthusiasts but guess I’ll meet you guys next time!

Grant, what happened to the Dublin location? I thought you gonna have a poll to decide between Fremont or Dublin? And how long is the meetup gonna be? I wonder if I can show up a bit late like 3 pm since I have to work.

I decided on Fremont for this meetup. If the afternoon time wins, I will probably be there until at least 3. The meetups usually last a lot longer than what is originally planned.

I guess it depends on how many people you expect to show up. There’s a ton of locally owned coffee shops here in town. Chain fast foods places are non existent. The Creamery, Four Barrel Coffee, Philz, Blue Bottle etc. There’s also a bunch of taquerias in the Mission.

Ideally, I would want a place that is easy to get to by public transportation (Bart and Uber) and that has plenty of parking options for everyone else. It should also be easy for everyone to pay for their own food/drink and not require reservations. I think Saturday afternoons work great for most people, so a great lunch restaurant or cafe would be perfect.

You won’t find anything within the City limits that has ‘plenty of parking’. I’d suggest something just outside SF in Daly City if people want to drive and park in a lot. There’s an In and Out in Daly City @ 260 Washington St. Daly City, CA 94015 which is a 10 minute walk from Colma BART station. That’s probably easiest depending on the # of people interested.

Got something to say?
