Good afternoon everyone, happy TGI Friday!  During my recent App-O-Rama, I was instantly approved for the American Express Business Platinum Charge Card that offered 100,000 AMEX Membership Reward Points after spending $15,000 in 3 months (50,000 points after spending the first $5,000 and another 50,000 points after spending another $10,000).  I also wrote about my experience expediting my new card here: Need to Expedite a New AMEX Card? Add Yourself as an Authorized User / Employee.  On December 10, I made a large purchase of $8,390.71 with my new card.

2 days later on December 12, I received a notification from Award Wallet that my AMEX Membership Reward Point balance increased by a lot.  When I logged into my AMEX online account, I saw that the first 50,000 AMEX Membership Reward Points posted (50,000 points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months).  I will get another 50,000 points when I spend the remaining $10,000 in the first 3 months.  I also saw 4,196 bonus AMEX Membership Reward Points with the description 1.5X.  Right now, American Express is offering a 50% points bonus when you make purchases of $5,000 or more on your American Express Business Platinum Charge Card.  So all purchases of $5,000 or more earn 1.5x.  So, $8,390.71 x 0.5 = 4,195.355 (rounded to 4,196) bonus AMEX Membership Reward Points.  My first statement hasn’t even closed yet (scheduled to close on December 20).
