My Favorite Hyatt Lounge in the World is…

Do you have a favorite hotel lounge? I don’t mean one that’s good, but rather one that takes good and turns it into GREAT. Seems to me, many lounges are fine, or even good, but in each hotel chain there are usually a few standouts.  I previously mentioned my 13 criteria for the perfect hotel lounge.

I’ve already talked about my favorite Sheraton lounge, so what’s my favorite Hyatt lounge?  There are many Hyatt lounges that I like that are quite good. But the one at the Hyatt Regency in Vancouver, B.C. is great! I’ve stayed there many times and it never disappoints. And if I’m paying cash for my hotel stay, I always use Pruvo to monitor for price drops!

Besides the wonderful downtown location of this hotel, the lounge totally gets it. It has 11 of the 13 criteria! The lounge is on a high floor and even has an outdoor area with amazing views of the mountains. I’ve only seen a few lounges with outdoor seating and in a beautiful setting like Vancouver, it’s perfect.

The lounge staff is wonderful. Totally helpful without being at all intrusive. Their breakfast spread is excellent, and dinner time is filled with real food and salad. I’ve noticed they change up their menu to match the seasons and weather. This makes so much sense. And evening hours are late enough, so there’s no rush.  (Photos courtesy of the excellent lounge staff)

Even if the lounge is closed, like it may be during the Christmas holiday, the restaurant where you’d then eat breakfast, is excellent.

And when the lounge is closed, the hotel staff will bring you whatever it is you need like water, fruit or snacks. Really good service here! So that’s my pick for my favorite Hyatt lounge. Lots of good ones, but this one raises the bar!

Hyatt Regency Vanvcouver Hours

I’m looking forward to hearing about your favorite Hyatt lounge! Have you been to the lounge at the Hyatt Regency in Vancouver? Did it rank as high on your list? Which Hyatt lounges rank high for you, and why? Did I miss any of your lounge criteria? Let me know!

Thanks for your vote, Tony. I stay at the W when I’m in Hong Kong, so I haven’t been to the Grand Hyatt. What is it you love so much about that lounge?

HI Alan, I’m wondering in which ways all of your other lounges around the world beat the Vancouver one. Are you talking mostly about the food? Which has been your favorite?

I haven’t stayed in Doha, only been there to transit, so I’m not familiar with the GH there. I’ll make sure to stay there if the opportunity arises. Thanks for the recommendation. Wouldn’t want to miss the Carlsberg :)

By far the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur- large buffet of hot and cold foods such as you would find in a dinner buffet fir evening appetizers, great view of petronas towers, free flowing alcohol, and great service by staff such as DeDe who already has your drink ready when you walk into lounge. Hotel also allows you to have breakfast at their international buffet with huge choice

Thanks for your vote, SS. I’ll be sure to put the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur on my list when I’m in Asia. My Asian stays have been at Park Hyatt properties or SPG properties, so I see from I need to enjoy some Grand Hyatt’s in Asia, too! And I agree, a great lounge staff makes a huge difference.

I’ll add another vote for the Grand Hyatt in Kuala Lumpur. The service, food, and views are absolutely top-notch. I may make a trip to K.L. just to use that lounge again!

Have to agree with Silver S, but I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Amman in December. I think had better lounge and breakfast buffet with great views. Staff was great, but nothing like KL.

Thanks for chiming in, Michael. I’ve only been in Amman as a stopover and didn’t need a hotel. Looks like I need to book a trip to Kuala Lumpur soon!
