Barclaycard JetBlue Plus MasterCard 30,000 TrueBlue Points Sign Up Bonus Posted Slowly

Good morning everyone, happy Sunday!  This is a short post detailing how long the Barclaycard JetBlue Plus MasterCard 30,000 TrueBlue Points took to post to my JetBlue account.  I was instantly approved for the credit card on December 6 and received the credit card about a week later (card art and features).  My first statement closed on December 26.  The $99 annual fee posted on December 30.  I met the $1,000 minimum spend requirements on January 9.  My second statement closed on January 26 but the sign up bonus points were not on that statement.  The 30,000 JetBlue TrueBlue points finally posted on February 25 (2.5 months after getting the credit card and 1.5 months after completing the minimum spend requirement).

My third statement closed on February 26 and the sign up bonus points were listed.

On February 27, I received an email from JetBlue alerting me to the 30,000 TrueBlue points bonus.

I don’t have a specific redemption in mind (there are not a ton of JetBlue flights from SFO or OAK), but I will probably use the TrueBlue points to fly to NYC to visit my friends.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Still waiting on my 30,000 points to post as well, been about 1.5 months so far, glad to know I’m not the only one.

Just be patient, I’m not sure if it’s JetBlue being slow or Barclays being slow. It might have something to do with all the JetBlue points that they are giving away with their 3x Amazon link.

Mine posted a few days after my statement closed in which I met the minimum spend. This was back in August.

Thank you for the data point, Jonathon. Maybe the process has slowed down since last August. Anyone else have any data points?

I got mine early fall of last year and it was slow, more than 2 months. I was worried that I miscalculated the min spend but I was good.

Same here… was approved for a personal card December, met spending requirements quickly (within a week or two). No bonus posted in January. In February it posted. I also got a business card in December and met the spending requirements within a week or two. The bonus posted right away on the first statement closing date in January. So for the business card it was quick, but it took an extra month for the personal card.

Strange that the personal credit card took an extra cycle but the business card posted on the first statement. Good to know about the Barclaycard JetBlue Business Credit Card – I might go for that one on my next App-O-Rama.

I received my JetBlue Plus card and am already halfway to my minimum spending to receive my 30,000 point bonus. My question is: Do I need to simply spend $1,000 in those 90 days or spend AND pay it off within that period?

Personally, I don’t advise carrying a balance on the card unless it’s 0% APR. When I signed up for the JetBlue Plus card, there was a 0% Balance Transfer offer within the first 45 days of opening the account, but there was no 0% APR on purchases. An alternative to carrying a balance through the purchases is making the $1000+ in purchases as soon as possible to trigger the bonus. Pay off the balance. Then do a balance transfer making sure the terms and conditions of the balance transfer offer is 0% APR on balance transfers. Check the balance transfer fee as well, as you will get charged that as well if you decided to do that. I think that card is 3% for a balance transfer fee. Just don’t use the card while the balance is on there, as that could trigger the purchase APR which is high. That all needs to be done within the first 45 days of being approved for the card (not when you receive the card), so doing that has a much cheaper rate to carry a balance on the card versus carrying a balance from purchases. At the same time, the best thing to do is not to carry any balance on any card and to have a system where you don’t spend on the credit card unless you have the cash to pay off the credit card. For a balance transfer offer though, I think the introductory balance transfer offer is a good offer if you don’t need to use the card. I hope that all helps.
