5 Months Later, I Received 10,000 Bonus JetBlue Points from Barclays JetBlue Plus Credit Card Promo

Good afternoon everyone.  At the end of March, I received an email from Barclays regarding my Barclays JetBlue Plus Credit Card.  The email said I could earn 10,000 bonus JetBlue Points for spending $750 or more for 3 consecutive months (April, May, and June).  I had to make sure to spend $750 or more from April 1-30, May 1-31, and June 1-30 (not when my credit card statement closed in April, May, and June). I received the 10,000 bonus JetBlue Points ~5 months after the date I received the email.

Here are the complete terms and conditions from the original email:

1 Offer is valid for select cardmembers and is not transferable. You will earn 10,000 bonus points after you charge $750 or more in net retail purchases (purchases that are not returned or rescinded) each month from April 1, 2017 through June 30, 2017 based on the transaction date. If you do not spend $750 or more in any of the 3 months of the promotion, you will not be eligible for any bonus points as part of this offer. To receive your bonus points, your account must be open, active and in good standing. Purchases made during periods when your account is delinquent, your balance exceeds your credit line or your account is otherwise not in good standing as defined in your Cardmember Agreement do not qualify for this offer. Your bonus points will appear on your statement up to 6-8 weeks after the end of the promotion. Net retail purchases do not include such things as the purchase of money orders, traveler’s checks, foreign currency, lottery tickets, gambling chips, wire transfers, person-to-person money transfers or using the account to obtain a cash advance.

I barely use my Barclays JetBlue Plus Credit Card after meeting the minimum spend and receiving the sign up bonus.  I had to carefully track my spending to make sure I hit the $750 mark every month.  For simplicity, I added the credit card to my Venmo account and paid my roommate for rent, along with making a few other charges.  Venmo does charge a fee to pay with your credit card, but the fee cost me much less than the 10,000 bonus JetBlue Points is worth (~$150).

Thanks to Award Wallet, I was notified as soon as the 10,000 bonus Jetblue Points posted to my JetBlue account.  I received the promo email on March 29, completed the last purchase on June 2, and received the bonus points on August 26.  That is a very lengthy process to get 10,000 bonus JetBlue Points.

Barclays has similar offers for their other credit cards (Aviator, Arrival, and Lufthansa), so keep checking your email and spam for these targeted offers.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone!
