Is the American Express Be Vancouver Hotel Sale the Best Way to See Vancouver this Winter?

So here I am sitting at my desk on the 30th floor of the Hyatt Regency Vancouver and I’m reading about the American Express Be Vancouver sale.  This hotel sale happens in Vancouver this time of year and runs through December 31, 2017. A few travel bloggers have already mentioned the sale and sure enough, it can be a great deal. I love Vancouver and spend quite a lot of time here, so no arguments from me about whether or not it’s a great destination. But I am advising you to check your other options first. Especially if you have the Citi Prestige Credit Card that comes with the 4th night free benefit and you’re planning a longer stay.

Remember that the American Express Be Vancouver deal is NON-REFUNDABLE. I just checked a few different dates for nights here at the Hyatt and did the math, and when rooms were available with the Be Vancouver deal, you might have saved a few dollars with the American Express deal, but not always, and again, you can’t cancel if your plans change. I’m not checking the other hotels, but I do know that during the low season in Vancouver, you’ll often find AAA rates and other discounts bringing the prices down even further. Let math be your friend and don’t jump on the Be Vancouver deal unless the numbers work in your favor!

P.S. Stay tuned for a World Coffee Tour post from Vancouver with my thoughts on 4 different coffee houses.

$100 + $50 per extra night! So if I book 3 nights, I get $200 AMEX gift card?

Rate on Hyatt.com for the same nights is $189++ (total $665) while it is $224++ (total $640). For the Hyatt Vancouver, you will be saving $25 total over 3 nights. Not sure if you will earn any WoH points for the stay through this promo. If not, the WoH points earned might offset the $25 savings.

Did not factor the 4th night because I don’t have the Citi Prestige card.

I see math is your friend, Kalboz :) The other point to consider is even IF the nights you’re looking for are available with this deal. And also if other deals like AAA are available. Thanks for reading!
