Up first, United Airlines is offering up to a 100% bonus, depending on the number of United Airlines MileagePlus Miles you purchase.  This offer expires on September 17.

No Change Fees for Condor Airlines Award Tickets Booked with Alaska Airlines Miles (My 2 Award Changes)

Good afternoon everyone.  Last month, I wrote Reminder: Condor Airlines has Flights to/from Europe for 25K-45K (Economy) & 55K (Business) using Alaska Miles.  At the time I wrote that post, I had booked Condor Airlines business class from Frankfurt (FRA) to Vancouver, BC (YVR) for 55,000 Alaska Airlines miles per person.  I needed to get to Southern California for an event, so I booked a separate award ticket on Air Canada from Vancouver, BC (YVR) to Los Angeles (LAX).

When it comes to award tickets, the price is the price and the availability is the availability on the specific day that you look.  Award prices and availability are constantly changing, so keep checking to see if award tickets get cheaper or better award flights open up.  I originally booked this award ticket on June 4 and my flight was on July 16, so I kept checking every few days to see if I could find a better option to fly back to Southern California.

PSA: Check for Targeted Capital One Travel Discounts (Ex: $75 Off Flights to Montana & $30 Off Flights to New Mexico)

Updated 12:00pm PT on 7/27/23: The travel credit posted a few days after purchasing the flights from the Capital One Travel portal.  Scroll down to see the update.

Good afternoon everyone.  After I saw the 10K Anniversary Points Post & $300 Travel Credit Reset for Capital One Venture X Credit Card, I browsed around the Capital One Travel portal and saw that I had 2 targeted offers: $75 off flights to Montana & $30 off flights to New Mexico.  I am close to SFO, so the location of the offers might be targeted to people in California or the West Coast, I am not sure.  There is no specific airline required and no limited booking window either.  I decided to take advantage of the first offer and booked an Alaska Airlines flight from Seattle to Bozeman, Montana.  As you can see, the $75 credit was applied to the reservation and the remaining $54 was charged to my Capital One Venture X Credit Card.  Since I just got my $300 travel credit “renewed,” the $54 travel purchase should get reimbursed by Capital One in a few days / weeks.

The Capital One Travel portal lets you purchase basic economy flights (which I always skip), standard economy flights (which can be changed after booking), and then a special economy flight that costs a few dollars more, but you can cancel and get back 80% of your flight as future travel credit.  I went with the standard economy flights.

Reminder: Condor Airlines has Flights to/from Europe for 25K-45K (Economy) & 55K (Business) using Alaska Miles

Good afternoon everyone.  2 weeks ago, my wife and I decided to book a last minute trip to Europe this summer with stops in Prague (PRG), Copenhagen (CPH), and Amsterdam (AMS).  Researching award flights can be a combination of excitement, frustration, and extreme outside the box thinking.  I love using Point.me to search for award space and was able to find Air France business class saver space for San Francisco to Paris to Prague (SFO-CDG-PRG) for 65,000 miles + $242 in taxes/fees per person.  Point.me pro tip: run multiple searches at the same time in different tabs to maximize your searching and minimize your time.

For our return trip, I had a much harder time finding saver award space back home.  Luckily, Point.me found Condor Airlines business class flights that were bookable with Alaska Airlines miles.  If you want to see what Condor Airlines business class looks like, check out this One Mile at a Time review.

In this post, I will show you the 15 routes that Condor Airlines flies from Frankfurt, Germany (FRA) to the United States and Canada.  I will also sort them in a table based on arrival city (alphabetical) and duration (shortest to longest).  The dates shown in these images were the first available business class flights I found, but award space is constantly changing, so you may find more or less award space if you look today.  Economy prices range from 25K to 45K miles, depending on availability and the route; business class is fixed at 55K miles for all routes.
