Citi AT&T Access More Credit Card will Earn 1x for Gift Card Purchases & Real Estate Payments (Effective July 22, 2017)

Good morning everyone, I just received an email from Citi regarding my Citi AT&T Access More Credit Card.  Effective July 22, 2017, purchases of gift cards, reloading of gift cards, rent payments, and real estate payments will only earn 1x Citi Thank You Point, instead of the standard 3x Citi Thank You Points for the “online purchases” category.  This is really bad news for anyone who normally makes those purchases expecting to earn 3x Citi Thank You Points.

I currently have the Citi AT&T Access More Credit Card and my annual fee is set to post in the next few weeks, so I am not sure if I will pay the $95 annual fee to keep the credit card open.  Will you keep your Citi AT&T Access More Credit Card open or continue to use your credit card after these changes go into effect?  Let me know below.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment.  Thank you and have a great day everyone!

I was planning to PC to this card in the fall, but this (combined with the overall devaluation of TYP) makes that look less appealing. Hopefully they’ll give you a good retention offer considering all of the changes.

I spent $10,000 on my Citi AT&T Access More Credit Card, so I am waiting for the annual fee to post and for my 10,000 spending bonus Citi Thank You Points to post. I will then see what type of retention offer Citi offers. I’ll report back.

    Grant,

Indeed, sad news. Was a great points machine!

But Grant, not only does the card give 10,000 pts with $10,000 spend annually at renewal, I have found the retention offers readily available as long as the fee posts. 10,000 pts for $3,000 spend. There are plenty of good places it still gives 3X.

I am eagerly awaiting my 10,000 Citi Thank You Points for spending $10,000 on the credit card. I will call for retention offers and see what Citi offers.

mad at this change since I just paid my $450 prestige annual fee so I could transfer AT&T points to Singapore. Hoping my mortgage payment through plastiq still works – currently codes as ‘misc government services’
