Friday Filler: What are you up to this Weekend?

Good morning everyone, happy Friday!  I don’t have anything travel-related to share this morning, but I just wanted to see what my readers are up to this weekend.  This is my last weekend in the Bay Area before my week-long trip to Iceland during the first week of September.  Before I head off to Iceland, I have a fun filled weekend planned around the Bay Area.  Tonight, my girlfriend and I am going to see a new musical at the SHN Orpheum theater in San Francisco called Something Rotten!  I love going to musicals and this one sounds like an entertaining show.

Then on Saturday afternoon, we will try to go to the Oakland A’s baseball game vs. the Texas Rangers.  They are giving out Dennis Eckersley bobbleheads to the first 15,000 fans and I should be able to sell these bobbleheads on eBay for a few bucks.  This will be my first Oakland A’s baseball game in the last 5 years.

Last but not least, we will go to the Treasure Island Flea Market on Sunday morning. Parking is free and admission is only $3 for adults.  They also have deals on Groupon, but you need to buy a few days before the weekend.  They have interesting vendors and 10-15 food trucks lined up serving all types of food, alcoholic drinks, and delicious desserts.

So that is my weekend, what are you guys up to?  Are you staying in town for a lazy weekend or flying off to someplace exotic?  Let me know!  If you have any questions about any of the activities mentioned above, please leave a comment below.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Nothing exciting or exotic. Any travel counts! JetBlue MCO BDL to see family. It is 20 degrees cooler here so a really nice respite from Orlando heat.

Just wondering what you think about me paying off my student loan with a travel credit card at 0% since my loan is 7%? Any thoughts? I have offers from several cards but none are travel

I have about $7000 left. We were thinking of paying it off but I’d like to try to get some points for that money. Most regular cards are offering 0%for about 20 months. Then we would pay it off

They charge 5% on transfers but give you $150 back. That’s a hefty amount. Most charge 3%. I have to go the math
