World of Hyatt: Improved Elite Benefits and Summer Promo News!

When Hyatt sends good new our way, my ears perk up. As the official Hyatt fangirl around TWG, there’s one promotion and one piece of good news to share with you today.  Hyatt heard that members wanted more opportunities to be rewarded for their loyalty. Well of course we do! For a while now, World of Hyatt has been providing more exclusive promotions and special offers that help care for members when they travel. As part of this continued momentum, World of Hyatt is launching a new loyalty promotion that will help members’ travel add up to even more.

Here’s Hyatt’s latest promotion!

Starting June 1, 2018, you can earn 2,500 bonus Hyatt points after every five qualifying nights at Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency hotels, with a checkout date of August 31, 2018. There is no limit to the number of bonus Hyatt points you can earn, and bonus Hyatt points are redeemable at any Hyatt hotel worldwide, including participating MGM resort destinations in Las Vegas as well as Miraval and Oasis locations. Just register here by July 15, 2018. You’ll receive your bonus points within 3 weeks after you complete a 5-night stay. Remember, there is no limit to the number of bonus points you can earn. And eligible paid stays and award nights will count towards this promotion. But only stays with a checkout date on or before August 31, 2018, qualify for the deal.

Here’s the good news!

Hyatt made changes to their suite upgrade award expiration policy.  By earning Hyatt Globalist Elite Status (stay 60 nights or earn 100,000 base Hyatt points in a calendar year) you can earn 4 suite upgrade awards. The good news is that Hyatt is giving you more flexibility when it comes to redeeming them. This I like a lot!

Suite upgrade awards used to be valid 365 days after you earn them. With this policy change, our upgrades are valid through the expiration date of your elite status. Essentially, this means you’ll receive your 4 suite upgrade awards which are valid through the rest of the year, plus another 14 months. The upgrades you earn in 2018 don’t expire until February 29, 2020. Suite upgrades usually appear in your account at the beginning of March so this means all the suite upgrades have the same expiration rules. This has always been a point of confusion for me and for others, too. This keeps it simple. Of course the best part of this news is that we don’t have to be in such a rush to find a great use for those upgrades.

Hyatt members with Explorist status also got some good news!

Another part of the new expiration policy applies to the 4 club lounge access awards that Hyatt Explorists Elite Members receive.  Hyatt has incredible hotels all over the world. Hyatt points are easy to earn because they are a transfer partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards which are easy to earn using various Chase credit cards. Hyatt is the only hotel chain I ever use my Chase Ultimate Rewards Points for!

So that’s the Hyatt news for now. Both the extending of the suite upgrade award policy expiration dates and the opportunity to earn more Hyatt points for stays you might already have booked are easy wins. Make sure to register by July 15, 2018.
