Chicago Seminars Travel Conference Tickets Now on Sale (October 19-21)

Good evening everyone, I hope your Amazon Prime Day shopping is going well.  A few hours ago, tickets for Chicago Seminars went on sale.  They are $111 for 2.5 full days of travel advice, networking, drinking, more networking, more drinking, and maybe some sleep too.  I love going to Chicago Seminars and I am so excited to go back.  I just bought my ticket and airfare for the event.  There are limited seats available, but when I purchased my ticket at around 5:30pm PT, there were 472 tickets available.

During the registration process, you need to fill out information about yourself and your travel preferences.  This is a good ice breaker if you see someone else have the same airport code as you, fly the same airline/alliance as you, or prefer the same hotel chain as you.  You then need to register for sessions.  You can see all the detailed session info here.  Unfortunately, there are several great topics going on at the same times, so you won’t be able to see, listen, or learn everything, which is where networking comes in handy.  Make friends and share tips and tricks with others.  Sunday’s sessions will be breakout rooms covering every major airline and hotel program available.

Tickets to the event are non-refundable but transferable for a $25 fee.  I have been to several FTUs, Chicago Seminars, TravelCons, etc. and I think the Chicago Seminars are the best deal of them all.  I hope to see you there, just look for the Travel with Grant shirt and say hi.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone!

P.S. I hope to see some familiar faces again this year :)

I don’t think they ever have promo codes, that is just an Eventbrite thing. The event sells out every year, so I would buy sooner rather than later.

I’m actually staying at another hotel close by, not the host hotel. I believe you need to book the host hotel with cash through the Flyertalk link, otherwise they will cancel other bookings. Since it is your first time, I would book at the host hotel, that is great for networking and meeting other travel hackers.

OK. So I can’t book hotel elsewhere? I registered for the seminar, but looking for Airbnb or something cheaper (it’s just me). I read that they will cancel the room booking if I am not registered for seminar, not the other way round.

Sorry for any confusion. Yes, if you prefer Airbnb, do that. You will be fine. You just need to get to and from the host hotel for the sessions
