Problem Solved! Missing US Bank Radisson Rewards Credit Card Anniversary Points Posted

Good morning everyone.  A few months ago, I wrote PSA: Make Sure to Convert / Upgrade to US Bank Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature Credit Card.  In that post, I shared my experience upgrading from the no annual fee to the US Bank Radisson Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card ($50 annual fee).  A few days before I wrote that post, I received this email from US Bank on March 28 informing me of the cardmember anniversary.  The last bullet point in the email mentioned the 25,000 anniversary points, which was my whole reason for upgrading.  Unfortunately, the 25,000 anniversary points never posted to my Radisson Rewards account, so I had to track them down.

A few days after receiving the above email, my statement closed on April 3.  The statement showed the $50 annual fee, but not the 25,000 anniversary points.  I then reached out to US Bank for help.  I called US Bank and tried to explain the situation, but the rep insisted that I needed to talk to Radisson Rewards.  I knew that was a dead end because the credit card company is always the one responsible for sending the miles/points over to the loyalty account.

After continuously following up with US Bank, I finally reached someone who would file a missing rewards claim on my behalf.  He asked me a few clarifying questions and submitted the claim.  2 months after paying the annual fee, the 25,000 anniversary points finally showed up on my June 4 statement.

The following day on June 5, the 25,000 anniversary points finally posted to my Radisson Rewards account.

Later this year, I plan on calling US Bank and upgrading from the US Bank Radisson Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card ($50 annual fee) to the US Bank Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature Credit Card ($75 annual fee).  By upgrading to the new credit card, I will get 40,000 anniversary points instead of only 25,000 anniversary points, so 15,000 more points for paying $25 – that’s a pretty good deal.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone!

I had this problem with the same card in the past. I was told if I had a charge, of any amount, on the statement for the month the bonus was due, it would come right away. Otherwise, it would need to be added manually later.

I feel like that is a stupid rule. I get statements that have $0 balance sometimes when the credit card company announces a change to a fee or benefit, so I should get a statement when anniversary points are due to post too.

I’m not sure it is so much a rule, as just how the program and systems work. A typical customer probably uses their card every month for something, so it’s not an issue. People like you who keep the card for just the benefits from paying the fee are not likely their typical customer, so the system wasn’t built for that segment.

That’s normal for them …..they charge my credit annual fee in January and I get the points March or April

Frustrating that I can’t even access either my wife’s or my history at all. I’ve scoured their website, looked for help on the blogs, etc. I only see the totals for both. I did send a request for the last 18 months history via their help page. Hopefully will get listing shortly….

Are you checking the US Bank website late on Saturday night? That is typically when banks update their system. Check back on Monday morning. If that doesn’t work, do you have access to past statements from the US Bank website?

Thanks…..Yes, I can see the 40K annual bonus on the statements, I would just like to see some kind of record of past stays so I know they’ve been credited properly…..

Ahh, I see. That would be nice but I’m not sure Radisson Rewards has that ability right now. How often do you have paid stats at that chain?

I finally figured out my problem….I was trying to access my account through the Radisson.com site which did show my account but no activity info. I should have been accessing it via the ClubCarlson.com site which showed all of both of our activity & stays. Thanks for your article as it made me check on the annual bonuses posting and then drew me into figuring out why no activity was available.
