Say Hi to Me at the Chicago Seminars Travel Conference (October 18-20)

Good afternoon everyone.  We are a few days away from the Chicago Seminars travel conference!  It is held every October near Chicago O’Hare at the Holiday Inn Elk Grove.  Tickets are $125 and still available.  Tickets include access to the conference (runs Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon), lunch Saturday & Sunday, coffee/snack breaks, and a complimentary drink at Saturday’s Happy Hour.  Here is the current schedule and speaker topics.  I won’t be presenting at the conference, but some of my favorite bloggers will be (Frequent Miler, Rapid Travel Chai, One Mile at a Time, Bald Thoughts, etc).  If you see me there, come say hi :)

Hopefully I will see a few Travel with Grant readers at the conference.  Safe travels to Chicago!

Wish I could go, but I’m out of the country. One question that I’d love to ask if I went this year, although I think you could hear crickets chirping after the question, is how do you get two first class saver award seats on either SQ or SQ/LH to/from Asia to the US via Europe with a stop in Germany. Have fun.

Dorry you won’t be able to make the Chicago Seminars this year. I don’t know the answer to your question, but you would have to research Singapore’s Star Alliance member airlines to see which ones offered a stopover in Germany. Then figure out which program offered the best frequent flyer programs and then figure out how to transfer miles into those programs. Doesn’t sound too complicated, does it?

My question is pretty much whether anyone else, including a booking service, can get two seats in Singapore suites to or from the US, or even to FRA, with first class award space on LH to anywhere in the Eastern US or vice versa. I’ve checked many times, but just can’t see two seats at saver level with SQ, so I’m stumped. Obviously Singapore releases space, so either it is complicated, I’m just dumb, or I’m missing something. Any help appreciated.
