Earlier this week, it became possible to convert Radisson Hotels Americas Points into Choice Hotels Points on a 2:1 exchange rate (2,000 Radisson Hotels Americas Points = 1,000 Choice Hotels Points). Last year, Choice Hotels partnered with the Bakkt app to allow you to convert points to cash. If you now have Choice Hotels Points, you may want to consider converting some Choice Hotels Points to cash with the Bakkt app.
I do not plan on converting any Choice Hotels Points with Bakkt since I can get more value redeeming points for award stays. You can also transfer Citi ThankYou Points to Choice Hotels Points at a 1:2 exchange rate (1,000 Citi ThankYou Points = 2,000 Choice Hotels Points). If you do not have any plans to use your Choice Hotels Points for award stays and do not plan on transferring points into your Choice Hotels account, you may want to consider this option.
To get started, download the Bakkt app (iOS or Android), create an account, and then link your Choice Hotels account. Currently, Bakkt only partners with Choice Hotels and Wyndham Hotels. Click on your Choice account.
You can convert a maximum of 32,000 Choice Hotels Points per day and per month. Click the Convert button to continue. You can then link a bank account or debit card in order to transfer the cash out of Bakkt (or you can skip this step for now).
You can convert Choice Hotels Points in increments of 4,000 points. 4,000 points = $12.50 (0.31 CPP)
32,000 points = $100.00 (0.32 CPP). If you are happy with that exchange, click the Convert Now button.
Like I said at the top of the post, I do not plan on doing this with any of my Choice Hotels Points since I plan on using those points for award stays. If you have any questions about the Bakkt app, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone!

Wouldn’t be better or more value to convert them to UA miles (or any other), especially if you are topping off for a specific award?
Possibly, I haven’t looked at the conversion rates from Choice Hotels Points to airline miles.

I have a question: my supervisor has about 2mil Choice Rewards Points. He set up an account while first railroading and over 7 years they just added up and he didn’t realize it. Now he’s a supervisor and stays at nice hotels on the company’s money (Marriott etc) and doesn’t care about the points in Choice.
I offered to buy the points from him, i think i can get them all, 2 million points for $2k dollars from him but I can’t figure out a good way to get them over to me. It says on the Choice website that the most that can be transferred in a year is 180k, which would take 11 years to happen at that rate. The app above looks promising, as 2mil points would = about $6k on a $2k investment but it doesn’t look doable there.
Is there anyway loophole or backway of getting these points from my boss who doesn’t want them, doesn’t want to figure anything out about it and would easily take cash from me for it? I’d love to be able to put them into some kind of flyer program and book flights with them if possible or straight cash.
Any ideas would be great!

Hi Troy, this is an interesting situation. Can you just pay your supervisor and then take over control of his Choice account? Maybe you can change the email and password on the account and update the name on the account. That would be the simplest solution I think.
