$10 ApplePay Bonus for US Bank Club Carlson Visa Signature Credit Card Members (Targeted?)

Good morning everyone, happy Saturday!  My friend just sent me an email regarding his US Bank Club Carlson Visa Signature Credit Card.  He can get a $10 bonus after making an ApplePay purchase of $10 or more.  I also have the US Bank Club Carlson Visa Signature Credit Card, but I have not received this offer, so it may be targeted.  Check your inbox and spam folders to see if you received a similar ApplePay offer.

My Detailed Credit Card Activation Setup Routine & Checklist

Good morning everyone. As you know (if you read this blog regularly), I was recently approved for 6 new credit cards during my latest App-O-Rama.  Keeping track of 6 credit card sign up bonuses and minimum spending requirements can be challenging, but I have a trusted system that I developed over the years.  After activating each new credit card online or over the phone, I call the customer service number on the back of the credit card and ask the rep some questions:

  • I ask to change the bill due date (I set all my credit card due dates to the first of the month).
  • I ask to lower the cash advance limit to $0 or as low as possible (unfortunately, this is not possible with some credit card companies).
  • I ask to enroll in paperless statements and text alerts (most of the time I end up setting this up online myself).
  • *lastly, but most importantly* I ask about the details of the credit card sign up bonus (double checking that the sign up bonus, minimum spending and time range match my records).

Chase Freedom 10% Cash Back for Hotel & Rental Car Bookings (Actually a Good Deal!)

Good morning everyone, happy Sunday!  First off, I wanted to thank everyone who showed up at my OC Travel Hackers meetup yesterday afternoon, it was great to see so many familiar faces and meet some new travel hackers in the area.  I will be back in Orange County in late August, so I will plan another meetup then.

If you have a Chase Freedom Credit Card (maybe the Chase Freedom Unlimited Credit Card is included too, I’m not sure), you might have received the below email from Chase about a hotel and rental car offer where you can earn 10% cash back on all hotel and rental car bookings made in July.  This offer might be targeted, so if you did not receive this email, I am not sure if you will earn the bonus.  Normally I would ignore this email since I can find great rental car deals on my own, but in this case, Chase actually had the best rental car prices I could find.
