Preview: My 5 Radisson Blu Hotels in Ireland / Northern Ireland (202K Radisson Rewards Points Redeemed)

Good morning everyone, I hope you had a great weekend.  In a few weeks, Laura and I will head to Ireland for her spring break (she is an assistant principal, so we can only travel during school breaks).  As I wrote about a few days ago, there are 8 Radisson Blu properties in Ireland and 1 property in Northern Ireland (part of the United Kingdom).  We plan on staying at 5 different Radisson Blu properties on our roadtrip, including Belfast, Sligo, Limerick, Cork, and then Dublin Airport.  In this post, I will show you the point redemptions and share a photo of the hotels from the Radisson Blu website.

Elite Members (Credit Card Holders) Can Transfer Radisson Rewards Points to Other Members for Free

Good morning everyone.  In a few weeks, Laura and I will be doing a roadtrip around Ireland (more Ireland posts to come soon) and I was making a few last minute hotel reservations for our trip.  Before researching hotels in Ireland, I did not know that Ireland and Northern Ireland (part of the UK) had so many Radisson Blu hotels (9 as of today).  Since I was sitting on a large stash of Radisson Rewards points (and we had a great time at the beautiful Radisson Blu Beach Resort in Milatos, Crete), I decided to use them to book 5 different Radisson Blu hotels around Ireland & Northern Ireland.  The only problem… I was 1,500 Radisson Rewards points short of my redemption goal.

Trip Report: 6 Hour Layover in Bucharest, Romania? Visit Palace of the Parliament (Second Largest Building in the World)

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you enjoyed my post from yesterday: Trip Report: Visit Chisinau, Moldova & Transnistria (Breakaway State / Frozen Conflict Zone).  In today’s post, I am going to tell you what I did on my 6 hour layover in Bucharest, Romania.  My friend and I were flying from Chisinau, Moldova (KIV) to Sofia, Bulgaria (SOF) with a connection in Bucharest, Romania (OTP).  Since there were no nonstop flights between KIV and SOF, we intentionally built in a 6 hour layover in OTP so we could explore Bucharest.  We boarded our Tarom Airlines flight in the morning and I was excited since I never flew Tarom Airlines before (I like flying new airlines).  I’m not sure what type of aircraft it was, but the checked bags went right behind the cockpit and passengers boarded from the back of the plane.  The seats were pretty tight and I have never been on a plane that had economy seats facing backwards.  That must be a pretty interesting takeoff and landing experience.

PSA: Most US Bank “Travel Cards” Charge FOREX Fees

Good morning everyone, I hope you had a great Father’s Day Weekend. As I mentioned a few days ago, I’m getting ready for my Greece and Malta vacation. As part of my packing process, I call my banks and credit card companies, tell them I’m traveling internationally, and ask them to put travel notifications on my cards. During my recent call to Discover, I “discovered” 3 surprising facts about using Discover credit and debit cards internationally. In today’s post, I discovered some disappointing information about using US Bank credit cards internationally.

Hotel Review: Radisson Blu Nice, France (Convenient Access to NCE Airport and Monaco)

Good afternoon everyone, here is my latest hotel review of the Radisson Blu Nice.  The hotel is conveniently located a short distance from the NCE Airport.  There are buses that run from the airport to a bus stop across the street from the hotel, but it was late and we decided to take an UberX for under €10.  Here are directions via Google Maps.
