Choice Hotel Privileges Points take 8 Days to Transfer to Southwest Airlines
Just a quick follow-up post to Choice Points Post – How to Transfer to AA / AS / DL / UA / US / SWA. In that post, I showed you how to transfer your Choice Privileges Points to American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways, and Southwest Airlines. All transfer were made within an hour of each other on Thursday, July 11.
This morning (Friday, July 19), the SWA points posted to my account.
Here are all my Southwest Airline transfers (19 groups of 1,800 SWA points = 34,200 SWA points):
The 34,200 Southwest Airline points did count towards a companion pass. Not sure I will go for it though, since I have no companion to travel with.
I did the follow transfers on the same day as the transfers above.
But none of these accounts had any new miles. I guess Southwest Airlines is the fastest Choice Hotel transfer partner. Have any of your Choice Privileges Points been deposited yet? Please let me know, by leaving a comment below.

Did you partake in buying Choice points during Daily Getaways? Do you have any transfers in mind?
I bought 72K point but don’t know what to do with them yet …
That’s a tough call since it will take at least 8 days to transfer to a partner airline and you don’t want Choice to change their transfer partners/ratios. I would be most worried about the SWA transfer ratio because it seems too good to last. I would avoid transferring to United or SWA if you have a lot of UR Points. I would personally go with AA.
I did my transfer on July 11th at 9:07 pm and they have not made to my SW account yet.
All of my transfers were done between 4-5PM PST, so maybe you missed the cut off day on Thursday. Check your SWA account tomorrow, but it might not show up until Monday.
So did those points count toward the companion pass?
Yes they did, but I am not going for a SWA Companion Pass since I have no companion to travel with.
This is going to work out great for me I had some friends traveling and got them to give me the money for there tickets and bought points and between the club carlson and choice point I will get a companion pass for like $400.00 bucks out of pocket.
I buy SWA tickets for friends and relatives with SWA points and charge them 1.5 cents per point. I make a bit of money and they save a bit of money, it’s a win-win!
