Here are all of Chase’s 1:1 Ultimate Reward (Transfer) Travel Partners:

Chase UR Partners

British Airways:

The chart below represents the number of British Airways Avios (miles) required for each flight that falls into the corresponding category.  Want to learn why British Airways Avios are special?  Read 2 Round Trip Tickets to Hawaii for $105.

Korean Airlines:

Skip this partner, too much hassle to redeem for flights.  Thank me later.

Southwest Airlines:

Southwest Rapid Reward Points are worth more than 1.67 cents per point when redeemed for Southwest Airline flights.  For example, if a flight cost $167 on Southwest Airlines, you would only need to use 10,000 Southwest Airline Rapid Reward Points.

United Airlines:

United MileagePlus miles are great for domestic and international flights (see award chart)

United Award Map

Virgin Atlantic:

Virgin Atlantic miles are great for flights to London (see award chart).  The chart below shows round trip prices, but one way flgihts are half the miles/taxes.

Amtrak:

I’ve never taken Amtrak (not practical in SoCal), but here is their zone map award chart.

If you get the VIRGIN ATLANTIC BLACK CARD and after your first purchase you get 20K points. Then if you get the United MileagePlus Explorer and after you spend $2,000 in the first 3 months you will have 50K points, then add a authorized user for 5K more. Then you take all this and transfer it all to the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and after you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months get 40K points. (All spending will be done via online purchase of Visa gift cards then rolling to Bluebird then back to me)

Since all these points are transferable could this work? Ending with a total 120,000 points.

Do you know if this will work?

All those points are not transferable. You cannot transfer Virgin Atlantic points to another account or another loyalty program, same goes for United miles. You can move Chase Ultimate Rewards Points to your Virgin Atlantic and United frequent flyer accounts. The transfers only move in one direction: Chase Ultimate Rewards Points –> loyalty program.

Would I be able to transfer my 40k Chase Saphirre points to Virgin Atlantic and then transfer those Virgin Atlantic points to Hilton Honors points? Or do the transferred points lock into the first transferred loyalty program

Good morning Mike, yes you can transfer Chase Ultimate Reward Points to Virgin Atlantic and then to Hilton Honors. The ratio is 1:1 between Chase Ultimate Reward Points and a Virgin Atlantic, and then it is 2 Virgin Atlantic miles equals 3 Hilton Honors points.

Thanks Grant I was excited to learn about this transfer partner but I have a concern. Today I read on Virgin Atlantic site this statement: “Transfer Miles is available for all members who have previously earned miles on a Virgin Atlantic flight, or with one of our Flying Club Partners” Of course I have never flown on this airline before, any idea what this means for future transfers?

I would call Virgin Atlantic and talk to them directly and see if it means you can’t transfer points in and then out to Hilton. This transfer is not a very good deal since Chase Ultimate Reward Points are worth so much compared to Hilton Honors Points.

Thanks Grant, Last question before i leave you alone, is the same true for Hawaiin Airline miles if you transfer from SPG to Hawaii Air to Hilton it will work?

          2. Grant

Yes that will work too, but that is a terrible redemption in my opinion. SPG points are worth around 2.5 cents each while Hilton points are worth around 0.5 cents each.

Got something to say?
