Don’t be too Greedy with American Express Sync Offers… No Double Dipping
I know, I know, it is too late for this warning, but don’t be too greedy. Like many of you, I enrolled 4 of my American Express credit cards in the $25 statement credit for $75+ Amazon purchases a few days ago. After making 4 $75 egift card purchases on Amazon, I received my 4 $25 statement credits after 1-2 days. Everything worked perfectly. Thank you American Express.
Last night when I was looking at “My Offers” for my American Express credit cards, I saw that some of my credit cards showed the Amazon offer as redeemed:
While some of my credit cards showed the offer as available:
Even though I had earned the $25 statement credit:
What was going on? Could I double dip with that American Express credit card? Good question, unfortunately no. I purchased a $75 egift card one more time but never received an email from American Express thanking me for using my enrolled card. Now after almost 24 hours of waiting (and hoping), still no such email
So there you have it, don’t be too greedy. 1 statement credit per credit card per offer is good enough for me.
P.S. I really like the American Express iPhone app and these messages:
$170 in free money from American Express offers :)

I participated in “small business Saturday.” I used my 3 Amex cards, one each at a different place. They ALL were listed on the website. However, I only got ONE confirmation. Has anyone else had this experience? Do I contact customer service??
Good morning Nancy, yes, send American Express an email or give them a call. You should have received your statement credits 1-2 days after the purchase shows up in your American Express online account.
Works the opposite way too. Some cards showed as redeemed with no credit on the statement until the next day or day after that. There is lag both ways. In your case didn’t show as redeemed but credit showed up.
Good point Kent, either way is frustrating. I’m planning a trip to Toys R Us, Kohls, and Lowes tonight to get some more AMEX statement credits.
