Quick Updates Regarding the New Chase IHG MasterCard and Visa Savings Edge Program
This is a follow up post to an earlier post (Friday Rundown: Free Lounge Access for Chase Ink Bold/Plus, New IHG MasterCard…). In that post, I said that I had received a letter from Chase regarding my Chase IHG Visa Credit Card. My card would soon be converted to a Chase IHG MasterCard Credit Card.
The letter stated that I would received my new MasterCard credit card by May 17, but my card would be automatically changed at/on April 1. Apparently my calendars are a few days late or Chase is a few days early, because it looks like they have already made the change to my current IHG credit card. I assume I will receive a new credit card in the mail any day now.
Also, an update to an earlier post (What is Visa Savings Edge?), I wanted to show how fast the statement credits post to your credit card account. With Visa Savings Edge, you earn 1% cash back in the form of statement credit on your credit card (Chase Ink Bold Visa in this case) on all Staples orders of $200 or more. As you can see, my $206.95 order (any guesses what that could be?) posted on 3/23 and I received my statement credit 2 days later on 3/25. Pretty fast Visa, I’m impressed!
Are you using Visa Savings Edge? If not, you are missing out on free money. Missing out on free money makes me sad :(
It must be late since I am not making much sense right now. If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Good night everyone!
Grant,
Your credit card statement shows you are buying $200 visa gift cards one at a time. I am just wondering if that is strategic versus buying several $200 visa gift cards at one time? Thanks!
Charles
That is a strategy for accumulating Plink Points at Office Depot. For Visa Savings Edge, it’s 1% on the entire Staples order, so I could buy them all in one transaction.
Thanks!
I quickly cancelled our IHG VISA cards and applied (each) to get the new MC cards with 8X,000 points after min spend. Approved.
Nice job Jerry!
