Random News: Toys R Us and Babies R Us Sells Many Different Gift Cards, Chick-Fil-A 2015 Calendar, 2x Membership Reward Points, and Wallaby Acquired by Bank Rate
Good evening everyone, here are some more random news stories to share. Earlier today, I shared the latest AMEX Offers. One of those offers was for Toys R Us / Babies R Us: spend $25 or more and get $5 statement credit. Valid In-store only.
I went to my local Toys R Us and checked out the gift card rack. I was surprised by the gift cards that they had in stock. I ended up purchasing a few $25 Ebay gift cards. 20% discount on all future Ebay purchases for me.
I had to buy 2 $25 Babies R Us gift cards for my parents to give as Christmas presents, so I drove across the street to the Babies R Us. I was honestly surprised by how clean and organized the store was. It was 10x nicer than Toys R Us. Anyway, they also had an interesting supply of gift cards for sale. The Forever 21 gift cards seemed slightly out of place to me. They have some decent restaurant gift cards for sale.

This next story is close to my heart and stomach… For the last few years, Chick-Fil-A has issued their calendar card. Inside the calendar, are photos of cows doing funny things. On the back of the calendar, you get a gift card which entitles you to 1 free item every month. In previous years, the calendar card was $6, this year the price is $7.
For only $7, you get all of the items below “for free.” The mystery offers have yet to be decided by Chick-Fil-A. Some months, they ask cardholders to vote for what they would like for their free item of the month. If you have been to Chick-Fil-A, you will be able to tell that the items listed on the calendar are worth a whole lot more than $7. They are hoping to get you into the restaurant to redeem your free food item and purchase additional items/sides. It is a great deal and is only around for a few weeks. If you go to Chick-Fil-A even just once a month, the calendar card pays for itself after 1-2 visits. This is the best deal in fast food restaurants :)
Next time you visit, try the diet lemonade if you get a chance, it is excellent!
If you have an American Express Everyday / Everyday Preferred Credit Card, you should have received a similar offer. Get 2x Membership Reward Points for using that card at small businesses until January 31, 2015 (link).

Yes, just go to any Chick-Fil-A restaurant and ask about the 2015 Calendar Card. You can order through the drive thru as well.
I went to ToysRUs and bought a $25 Shell Gas Card. Nothing like getting 20% off gas. Thanks for the heads up. I had no idea that ToysRUs sold gift cards other than their own
Me neither, I was genuinely surprised by the gift card rack. Every time you fill up your car, you will think of Toys R Us. On a side note, the cashier told me to sign up for Toys R Us’s loyalty card. After spending $125, you get an additional $5 gift card or something. Gift card orders count too. Pretty cool, huh?
