Good afternoon everyone. A reader sent me an email with a link to fast track to Southwest Airlines A-List elite status. Sign into your Southwest Airlines account and click here. Your Southwest Airlines account number should pre-populate into the boxes below. The terms and conditions say that the offer is only available for members who received the email, so YMMV if this will work for you. If you are accepted into the fast track, you must complete 3 round trip flights before April 30, 2017 to keep the status for the entire year.
Terms and Conditions
Only the Rapid Rewards® Member who received this email/offer from Southwest Airlines® is eligible for this promotion. Offer is nontransferable. Member must register for this promotion between January 30, 2017 and April 30, 2017 to qualify for promotional A-List status through April 30, 2017. Registration and promotional A-List status confirmation must be completed prior to booking of travel to receive A-List benefits. Promotional A-List status confirmation typically takes place within 72 hours of registration. Login to your account at Southwest.com to verify your promotional A-List status. During the promotional period you will not receive an A-List card, but you will receive all A-List status benefits on all flights booked after registering when you provide your Rapid Rewards account number in your reservation. To extend promotional A-List status through December 31, 2017, Member must either 1) book and complete three qualifying round trip (or six one-way) revenue flights between January 30, 2017 and April 30, 2017, or 2) earn 8,750 tier qualifying points from revenue flights booked and flown between January 30, 2017 and April 30, 2017. A qualifying one-way flight for this promotion is a one-way revenue flight on Southwest Airlines from an origin city to a destination city, including any intermediate stops and/or connections on Southwest Airlines. A qualifying roundtrip flight for this promotion is a roundtrip revenue flight on Southwest Airlines from an origin city to a destination city and back to the originating airport or carrier-recognized co-terminal. Valid on new reservations booked within the promotional time period only. Tier qualifying points are earned through the purchase of revenue flights or through the use of the Rapid Rewards Premier Card from Chase. Companion Pass, charter flights, reward and group travel and Southwest Vacations® packages, do not qualify as one-way or roundtrip revenue flights for extension of promotional A-List status. Changes made to any itinerary after purchase of a one-way or roundtrip revenue flight may eliminate qualification extension of promotional A-List status. Upon qualifying to extend promotional A-List status through December 31, 2017, you will receive an email verification. Please allow up to 15 business days after qualifying for the extended A-List status to receive your A-List card. If A-List status is earned by flying 25 qualifying one-way flights or earning 35,000 tier qualifying points in the calendar year while qualified for promotional A-List status, the regular A-List status will supersede the promotional A-List status, entitling the Member to A-List status through December 31, 2018.

Yup, did not work for me. Thanks though.
Ditto. No dice.
Did not work for me either. :(
Just because this didn’t work for random people doesn’t mean it’s dead for targeted people I assume.
That’s true. Hopefully some other people are targeted for the offer.
Didn’t work for me either…would love to know how to get targeted for it though….
I wish I knew too. Seems like they are targeted the occasional SWA traveler I fit that description, but no targeted email for me. It could be city specific too.
no go here either. Bummer!
Grantster,
It’s not dead. Ironically I emailed WN on Jan. 27 about this very same subject. Here is the response that I got back:
Thank you for taking the time to contact us about earning a tier status with us. We offer an ongoing 90-Day Tier Challenge Promotion for which you may be eligible. We’re excited to offer A-List status for six months to our Rapid Rewards Members who have an elite status with another domestic airline and who meet the requirements of the promotion. Please note that the promotional status will not take effect until these requirements are met.
In order to receive A-List status for six months, you must book and travel three revenue roundtrip flights (six one-way flights) or earn 8,000 Tier Qualifying Points within the 90-day promotional period. I first need to verify your elite status with another carrier, so here’s a checklist of the requirements you must send to RapidRewards@wnco.com:
Your first and last name
Phone number
Rapid Rewards account number
Documentation that validates your elite status with another domestic airline, such as a valid and current elite credential or a statement showing elite status.
Enter “90-Day Tier Challenge” in the subject line.
This promotion is just one of many benefits available through our Rapid Rewards program. New promotions are always popping up on southwest.com, so stay tuned! Also, feel free to peruse our Rewards Partners for even more ways to earn points. Please allow up to 30 days for your request to be completed. We appreciate your patronage and look forward to our next opportunity to welcome you onboard.
Much appreciation,
I used my Silver Status with Virgin America to get the Challenge. The thing of it all is – now that they have given me the challenge, I’m not even sure it is worth it. I could basically “buy” 8000 Tier Qualifying points by booking biz class tickets. But do I really want to spend the $667 dollars to get this status? What does it really get me? An ‘A’ boarding position? I could buy Earlybird for that. Please correct me if I’m wrong, or if I’m missing something here….
?

?
Thanks for sharing the email from SWA. You’re right about Early Bird boarding, I think A List is just useful if you check in late for your flight and board between A and B groups.
I got this e-mail yesterday. I will travel Thursday hopefully the perks will be in place for my account.
Please let me know if you are A-List on your upcoming trip. Thank you.
Apparently there are two versions of this promotion. One where you temporarily receive A-List status and keep it as long as you fly your 3 roundtrip flights by April 30th, and one where you only receive it once you fly your 3 roundtrip flights. Unfortunately, it looks like I am only eligible for the latter. I don’t have a link but look into the other promotion if you don’t qualify for this one!
Thank you for the datapoint. Are you going to participate in the promo?
Do you know if there is any way to use SWA travel funds for a ticket in someone else’s name than the original ticket was for?
Unfortunately, there is no way to use travel funds for another person.
