Vanilla Reload Card Grows Up

We all get older, whether we like it or not.  Same thing has happened to our friend, Vanilla Reload Card.  I don’t know if you are like me, but it seems like my parents and grandparents have always been the same age for as long as I can remember.  If you spend a lot of time with someone, you do not notice changes as quickly.  Which is why you don’t recognize your best friend’s new haircut.  You know what I mean?

Anyways…

I was at my favorite three letter pharmacy this afternoon and picked up 2 Vanilla Reload Cards.  (Finally they were in stock, I shouted in my head).  As I was getting ready to load the Vanilla Reload Card onto my Bluebird Card, I noticed that the Vanilla Reload Card had a bit of a makeover on the front of the card.

Let’s take a look back at how our friend has grown up over the years… 

Version 1.0, originally found at Office Depot

On the back of the card, located on the right side under the Vanilla cone, is a code “1011v01.”  I think that codes means October 2011, version 1.  That might indicate that this card was manufactured in October 2011.

 

Version 2.0, found at Office Depot, but mainly CVS

Code says “0912v01” which probably means created September 2012.

 

Version 3.0, found at CVS today (July 30, 2013)

Code says “0613v01” which probably means created June 2013.

This post might be pointless, but it could also explain why CVS was short on supplies that last few weeks.  Do any of your Vanilla Reload Cards have different codes?

I am a bit of a hoarder and keep all my used Vanilla Reload Cards in my drawer.  It’s fun to think these all had $500 on them at one time…
