2 $10 Amazon eGift Card Winners and $50 Serve Direct Deposit Bonus

Thank you for everyone who participated in the contest.  There were many close guesses, but there can only be two winners.  The correct answer (including today’s Walmart Kicks) is 39,720 All-Time Kicks.  I have earned a huge number of Kicks from referrals (2,000 Kicks for every 3 referrals), so that is 50 / 3 = 16 x 2,000 = 32,000 Kicks from you guys.  I could not have done it without your help.  The rest of the Kicks come from scanning bar codes and walking into stores.

Actual Shopkicks

The two closest guesses come from Arsenal and Tate (never thought I would say that phrase before).  Guys, please check your email for your $10 Amazon eGift Card.

If you are interested in winning one of the two $10 Amazon eGift Cards, just leave a comment below with your guess between 20,000 – 50,000.  Good luck.

Since there are so many rewards programs out there, it might be good to refresh your memory on them and point out some of the benefits of each program.  I will link to all relevant posts since I talked about all of these programs at least once my blog.

1 – Plink – Sort of like your best friend in high school.  You were really close for a long time, but then your friend changed and now you barely talk or think of the other person.  What I mean is, Plink used to partner with Staples and Office Depot and you used to earn oodles of Plink Points by buying gift cards in-store and online.  Unfortunately, Plink no longer partners with Staples or Office Depot.  Instead, they have the following partners:

2 $10 Amazon eGift Card Giveaway – Thanks for Shopping on Amazon in May

2 $10 Amazon eGift Card Giveaway – Thanks for Shopping on Amazon in May

Better late than never right?  I would have had this contest a few days ago, but I was a bit busy reporting the latest Walmart gift card reload news.  Anyway, I wanted to thank those of you who continue to shop on Amazon through my link.  For those of you who have never used the Amazon link to the right, the link takes you directly to the Amazon home page.  The link adds a tracking cookie to your shopping session (similar to going through an online shopping portal).  After you check out, I receive a small commission from Amazon based on the total amount of your purchase.  At the end of every month, I like to give back a part of the Amazon commission in the form of contests like this.

Without further ado, here is this month’s contest.  Guess how many Alaska Airlines miles I currently have.  2 hints:

  • I have between 0 and 100,000 Alaska Airlines miles
  • I have a personal and business Alaska Airlines credit card

The contest ends tonight (June 5) at 8PM PST and the 2 closest guesses will win a $10 Amazon eGift Card sent to the email attached to their comment.

Travel with Grant Turns 1 Tomorrow – 2 $25 Amazon eGift Card Giveaway!

For the record, yes, that is the official Travel with Grant logo (minus the celebration balloons and streamers) that a friend made it for me, but I hardly ever use it.  I much prefer my cheaply made rotating banner at the top of the page which shows some of the places miles and points can take you.

Anyway, tomorrow Travel with Grant (the blog, obviously) turns 1 year old!  Shhhh, keep it secret, I don’t want to ruin the surprise party.

I started my blog last year after returning from FTU Tyson’s Corner, right outside Washington DC.  I was inspired by Chris Guillebeau’s book The $100 Startup: Reinvent the Way You Make a Living, Do What You Love, and Create a New Future (Amazon link). I almost read the entire book on my flight home and said to myself: “I have some good travel/miles/points ideas, why not create a blog and share them with the world?”

The rest is history.  Tomorrow night, I will go more in-depth on what I have learned about blogging (specifically how awesome WordPress is) and how blogging has changed my view on the miles and points hobby.

Now for the good stuff, I have 2 $25 Amazon eGift Cards available to give away to the 2 readers who guess closest to my actual American Airlines account balance.  I will give you 2 hints:

  • I only have 1 Citi AA Executive Credit Card (so far)
  • I have between 100,000 miles and 500,000 miles

Guessing will be open from now (7AM PST) to 7PM PST tomorrow (or whenever I feel like ending the contest and sending out the prizes).  Good luck everyone!
