AMEX Offers

Random News: New AMEX Offers for AT&T / Sprint / T-Mobile / Verizon, Best Buy, PF Chang’s, Elephant Bar, and Nestle Life Water Delivery; Targeted 2,500 Alaska Airlines Bonus Offer; Free $5 Starbucks eGift Card from Discover Card; and New Chime Offers

It’s been a while since I last posted a few good AMEX offers.  These are all targeted offers, but hopefully you have some/all of the ones below.

The first offer seems like a great deal.  I’m guessing that 90% of you have a cell phone from one of the big 4 cell phone providers.  AMEX wants to save you some money.  Up to $30 per registered AMEX card toward your cell phone bill.  This is one of the few offers that allows you to triple dip on the cash back.  Enrollment is limited, so you should hurry and register your AMEX card with this offer.

$20 Staples Gift Card After Purchasing $300+ of MasterCard Gift Cards at Staples

(Hat Tip to Frequent Miler (link) – he is on vacation and still has time to find great deals)

This is similar to other Staples Easy Rebates, but this time, you will get a Staples Gift Card as a rebate, instead of a prepaid Visa/MasterCard gift card.  The terms of the offer say you can only get the rebate once per household (think out side the box neighborhood).  Offer valid from July 13th – 19th.

$20 Staples Easy Rebate $300 GCs

Since you have to buy MasterCard gift cards, you will have to go to a Staples store.  Staples.com only sells Visa Gift Cards.  You must buy MasterCard gift cards to qualify for the Easy Rebate.  If you have never completed an Easy Rebate, they are really easy (link).

2 $10 Amazon eGift Card Winners and $50 Serve Direct Deposit Bonus

Thank you for everyone who participated in the contest.  There were many close guesses, but there can only be two winners.  The correct answer (including today’s Walmart Kicks) is 39,720 All-Time Kicks.  I have earned a huge number of Kicks from referrals (2,000 Kicks for every 3 referrals), so that is 50 / 3 = 16 x 2,000 = 32,000 Kicks from you guys.  I could not have done it without your help.  The rest of the Kicks come from scanning bar codes and walking into stores.

Actual Shopkicks

The two closest guesses come from Arsenal and Tate (never thought I would say that phrase before).  Guys, please check your email for your $10 Amazon eGift Card.

Refresh your Memory: Plink, Shopkick, Visa Savings Edge, Checkout51, and Chime Card (Plus Enter my Contest for 2 $10 Amazon eGift Cards)

If you are interested in winning one of the two $10 Amazon eGift Cards, just leave a comment below with your guess between 20,000 – 50,000.  Good luck.

Since there are so many rewards programs out there, it might be good to refresh your memory on them and point out some of the benefits of each program.  I will link to all relevant posts since I talked about all of these programs at least once my blog.

1 – Plink – Sort of like your best friend in high school.  You were really close for a long time, but then your friend changed and now you barely talk or think of the other person.  What I mean is, Plink used to partner with Staples and Office Depot and you used to earn oodles of Plink Points by buying gift cards in-store and online.  Unfortunately, Plink no longer partners with Staples or Office Depot.  Instead, they have the following partners:

Where can you Buy “Gas” with a Chase Freedom or Discover It Credit Card?

Warning, this is an untested experiment, so YMMV.  Proceed at your own risk.

I’m sure most of you already know that the Chase Freedom and the Discover It credit cards offer 5x or 5% cash back at gas stations this quarter (July 1 – September 30).  But do you know what Chase and Discover consider “gas stations”?  Let me explain…

Freedom 5 Q3 Gas Stations Kohls

Discover Q3 Categories Gas Stations

Credit card companies use Merchant Category Codes (MCC for short) to determine which merchant or merchant category you are shopping at.  For example, Office Supply Stores are one MCC, Marriott is another, and Gas Stations are another.  You can learn more about the MCC search tool here.  For this post, I will just share what I did and point you in the right direction.

To start my search, I searched for my local gas station chains (ARCO, Chevron, and Shell) near my zip code.
