Updated 12pm PT on 1/8: FTC Disclosure: This was a hosted stay, but all reviews and opinions are my own.
Good morning everyone. A few weeks ago, my girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at the King George Hotel in the heart of San Francisco’s Union Square. The hotel is part of the Greystone Hotel Group which has a few boutique hotels along the West Coast. The hotel has a British theme in a charming location. When I stayed at the hotel, the restaurant / bar near the lobby was going through a renovation (photo at the bottom of this post). Out front, there is a large British flag flying. Check in was easy and we took the elevator up to the eighth floor.
At checkin, we were given 2 complimentary wine reception vouchers. We stopped by the second floor room promptly at 5pm for 2 free glasses of wine and brought the wine glasses up to our room. Outside of every hotel room, there is a touchscreen keypad, but I couldn’t figure out how it worked.
We had a very comfy king bed in our room with bed lights on each side.
There was a 28-32 inch TV, work desk, swivel chair and side chair.
There was a small closet in the corner of the room with a microwave, safe, and coffee maker.
The bathroom was small, but well laid out with a shower / tub, toilet, sink, mirror, towel hooks, and hairdryer.
The view from our room was nothing fancy, but we were just a 2-3 minute walk to Union Square. During our December stay, there was a giant Christmas tree and ice skating rink in Union Square.
The bar / restaurant was being remodeled, but the front desk staff said it should be open soon.
If you are looking for a boutique hotel near San Francisco’s Union Square, I definitely recommend the King George Hotel. If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone!
