Some Other Non App-O-Rama Credit Card News

I had my dad apply for the Bank of America Alaska Airlines credit card last week.  Well the card hasn’t arrived yet, but the miles did.  30,000 Alaska Airlines miles on credit card approval!  I love this offer so much, I took advantage of it in my recent App-O-Rama.

Dad Alaska Miles Post

This morning I received an email from American Express alerting me that me $20 Walmart statement credit had posted to my account.  Read my original post $20 off Walmart (American Express Offer) and 2,500 American Airlines Miles.

$20 AMEX Walmart

I bought a $200 Visa Gift Card and a $50 Southwest Gift Card.  Total with shipping and processing came to $256.88 – $20 = $236.88.  Profit of $13.12 plus 257 SPG points.

Amex Walamrt Offer Cash Back

My anniversary free night certificate from Hyatt posted today as well.  Certificate is valid at any Category 1-4 Hyatt in the world.  It seems like Hyatt did a batch update since my mom got her free night certificate today with the same expiration date as mine.  If you have the Hyatt Card for almost a year, see if you got your certificate early.

A larger sign up bonus came out for the Sapphire Preferred credit card (and a larger annual fee for the second year $95 $125).

5,000 bonus Ultimate Reward Points for adding an authorized pet imaginary friend user.

5k Auth User

Chase Freedom is twice as nice.  20,000 Ultimate Reward Points for a sign up bonus.  Always no annual fee.  This is the one card I have never had from Chase that I should get.  Like now!

If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.  Are you going for any of the improved sign up bonuses?

I applied for this card in Sept. in the branch and got my bonus 40K points already. Now I am sending Chase SM to ask for the extra bonus.
I need proof of the current offer, so thank you for keeping your readers updated on current promotions. :-)

This may be off-topic, but about your app-o-rama, it’s too bad that you had to sacrifice your Virgin Atlantic card. You missed out on the 15K anniversary bonus, which more than makes up for the annual fee.

Do you know if that vanilla $100 or $200 visa gift card is able to load into the BlueBird? I have some troubles to load my $200 Mastercard recently after I set up the password. I got these cards at Staples. Thanks!

I buy the MasterCard gift cards from Staples and call the number on the back to set the PIN. The Visa Gift Card from Walmart has no way to set the PIN, you just enter 4 digits on the PIN pad and it sets it for you.
