$25 Statement Credit after Spending $75+ at Amazon with your American Express Credit Card
American Express has a new promo with Amazon where you will get a $25 statement credit if you use your linked/synced American Express credit card on a $75+ purchase. Check all your American Express credit cards and add the offer to your card. You can only add the offer to one credit card, so choose wisely (I chose my SPG card).
Next, I bought a $75 Amazon gift card with my SPG card.
Then I applied the $75 gift card to my Amazon account.
My SPG card shows a $75 pending purchase from Amazon.
And I just received an email from American Express.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ve been seriously considering upgrading my Kindle. Now it seems like Amazon is practically forcing me to! :-p
Upgrade! Upgrade! Then sell your Kindle on Ebay!
Wow, good on egift cards??? I was able to add this offer to two AMEX cards, one through the card offers at the AMEX website, and the other card using AMEX sync with facebook. Does anyone know if I buy — and apply — egift cards to my same account, would both be successful in generating the $25 credit?
Not sure, if you were planning on making both $75 purchases anyways, I would just go for it.
I just did the twitter sync. Worked perfectly. I have 6 amex’es. Why wouldn’t I just get 5 extra twitter accounts and sync the other 5 cards?
You could do that or get 6 other Facebook accounts.
Just unsync your card after each purchase and sync another one. My question is if it will work with authorized user cards also or once per master account?
Authorized users for AMEX cards have different card numbers so you should be able to get the bonus for each card.
I just bought 2 $75 staples gift cards from amazon. I can turn these back into Visa GCs after going thru the UR mall to Staples.com.
Good idea. Can you use staples gift cards to purchase visa gift cards on staples.com?
Not 100% sure yet. I had a $20 staples GC in hand from another rebate deal, that I just recently used toward an online purchase of a $100 VGC. Their ordering system let me order it, but I have not yet gotten the VGC in the mail. Results pending…. :)
Keep me posted.
Confirmed. You can use a Staples gift card to buy a $100 VGC online. You can also do the same thing in store. I traded two $75 staples in on a $200 MC tonight. Bought some sharpies to bring the remaining charge over $60, so $3 back Plinked… :)
Nice score. I haven’t tried to use a Staples gift card in-store to buy a $200 Visa gift card. I will have to try that.
You can enroll all of your Amex cards using this link – https://enroll.amexnetwork.com/US/en/Amazon/. You do not sign in with your account so it does not register your account, just each card. You have to do the process for each card but it does not take long. I received e-mail confirmations on all 8 cards I registered and purchased gift cards with.
Thank you for the link. I will do that when I get home. I’m running low on Amazon gift cards.
I’m aware of the link to register all the cards but I wanted to entertain Judy’s comment. She says just unsync the cards but my concern would be syncing, charging the card for the deal, unsyncing and the card doesn’t get the credit. Then again if she already made the charge once the card was synced, maybe the credit would go through or maybe AE will check to make sure the sync is still there come time to apply the rebate credit. This is an easy test if your willing to wait the time to get the credit. Is Judy correct or is there risk unsyncing?
I’m not really sure how the statement credits are traced. I would think as soon as you register and make a eligible purchase, your card info would be saved by AMEX. Then they would do a batch statement credit after a few days. But I’m not sure.
