American Express $10 Small Business Saturday and $25 Amazon Statements Post in 1-2 Days

Today (December 3, 2013) I received statement credits for the $10 Small Business Saturday promo (post) and $25 Amazon promo (post).  If you participated in either American Express statement credit promo, you should start receiving your statement credit emails.

    Hey Grant,

I bought two gifts off Amazon with my Amex Blue Cash card. I purchased them together at the checkout, but because they were two different sellers, Amazon charged each seller individually. So, instead of the purchase showing up as one lump sum ($80.63) it showed up online as two separate charges ($26.64 and $53.99). Do you think they’ll still reward me the statement credit even though it was charged separately? Thanks!

Please let me know. To avoid this with other AMEX cards, I recommend buying a $75 egift card from Amazon. That way this won’t happen again.

I just got off the phone with an Amex representative. They are going to give me the $25 statement credit. I explained my situation to the rep and he told me that to get the Amazon statement credit you must spend $75 in ONE purchase. However, because my situation is unique in that I ordered the products together but was charged separately, Amex is still giving me the statement credit. So, if this does happen to anyone else, just call Amex and they’ll take care of it. But, I think your advice was more helpful. Order a gift card of $75 or more and you’ll be set. Thanks for your help!
