$15 Statement Credit with $75+ Home Depot Purchase (AMEX Offer), Chase UR Points on IHG Reward Night, and Discover It Q3 Activation

Are you ready for some random miles and points news?  I hope you said yes, so let’s go.  This has been blogged about a few times today, but thought I would chime in anyway.  There is currently an AMEX Offer for You deal where you get $15 statement credit after spending $75 or more at Home Depot.

So naturally I went and bought a $25 and a $50 Panera gift card (George’s favorite).  With this promo, you can get 20% off any $75 purchase ($75 x 80% = $60).  I also receive an iPhone notification and email right away confirming my purchase was successful with American Express.  In a few days, I should see the $15 statement credit post to my account.

In other news, I got an email from Chase alerting me that I had received 330 Chase Ultimate Reward Points for my recent (March 2) purchase through the IHG website.

This is strange because I had used cash and points (25,000 IHG points + $70) for a recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Moab, Uath (trip report coming soonish).

In other news, Discover announced their 3rd quarter cash back categories.  It is gas, which doesn’t excite me.  I can never find any gas stations near me that sell gift cards greater than $100 or VRCs.  You can register your Discover It card here.

That’s it for me, good night everyone!

Grant — I was able to buy 2 $100 Visa GCs (one on SPG one on Hilton), not as good of a deal as the resturant GCs but a deal none the less. LOL.

Not bad Frank. You paid $105~$106 and received $15 back, for a profit of ~$10. I probably didn’t need more Panera gift cards, but I like their Thai Chicken Salad and their bagels. Mmm
