Should Chase Update it’s Chase Ink Business Credit Card Commercial?

This post is not related to travel, but every time I watch the Chase Ink Bold Business Credit Card commercial about the Paper Cottage, I think Chase needs to do another commercial about what really happens to its Chase Ink Business Credit Cards.  For those unfamiliar with the commercial:

If they made a commercial about me and my Ink Bold Business Credit Card, it might sound something like this:

Hi everyone, I use my Ink Bold card to buy $200 gift cards at Staples.  Staples is an office supply store and earns 5 Chase Ultimate Reward Points per dollar.  Factoring in the $6.95 activation fee and subtracting the $3.00 in Plink Points, I am able to get 1,035 Chase Ultimate Reward Points for $3.95, or 0.0038 cents per point.  I then transfer those points to United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, British Airways, Hyatt Hotels, or Marriott Hotels and travel the world in style for only a few bucks.

I then take my $200 gift cards to Walmart and load to my Bluebird Card.  Bluebird is a prepaid reloadable debit card and comes from American Express.  I really like Chase and American Express.  After convincing the cashier to load my Bluebird Card with a gift card, I then log into my Bluebird account, and pay off my Chase Ink Bold card.

What could be simpler?

Thanks Chase Ink, I love you!

Now that is a commercial I want to see!  P.S. this is a #TBBApproved post with no affiliate links :)

How long have you been using Plink? Can you link in more than one credit card? I’d like to link both my Chase and 2 of my Amex’s. Can you link more than one card to a merchant?

It’s 1 credit card per Plink account. You can change them as often as you want, but you might want to set up multiple accounts with different credit cards. Use a different email log in for each account.

So, you can accumulate plink points in the plink wallet until you want to cash them out in the form of a gift card? Is there a minimum?

    I agree with the premise.

I think UR spend on the 5X is $50K. So basically, you’d be spending net $4 X 5 X 50 = $1000 to buy 250K UR points (presuming you put no other 5X charges on it). That’s an outstanding deal. $1000 to buy 2 biz class round trip tix or 11+ nights at any Park Hyatt is a 4X+ value.

I’m sorry if these are novice questions. What kind of gift cards do you buy at Staples? Is there a limit to the dollar amount that you can buy on any day or in any time period? Same questions about converting to Bluebird at Walmart — is there a limit on the dollars that can be loaded from the gift card to Bluebird? Thanks very much. You are a great resource for us who love to travel but need to save money.

Good evening Scott, I love to help. My local Staples will only sell me 2 $200 gift cards per day, but it will depend on your local Staples. If you are not concerned about Plink Points, you can buy gift cards at Office Max and Office Depot as well. You can load $1,000 per day onto your Bluebird Card and $5,000 per month onto your Bluebird Card. Any other questions I can answer for you?

Grant, I never have applied any Business cc for myself, since I don’t have an actual business, but individual can also apply for it, which is very common, especially for Chase Ink, the 50k sign on bonus and 5x category is pretty awesome, and convert UR to Airline/Hotel,ect.
From your point of view: Can we use business cc for personal spending? Does bank like that? And how many business cc can you have? I think if you apply the 1st one, you can use a very little amount of revenue, but for 2nd one, they might consider your business size before issuing you. I will probably apply one version of Ink next year since I cancelled my Chase Sapphire preferred and don’t have a way of converting UR to airlines.
