Hi, Grant. Have recently started using eBates. I have a couple of questions:
– does eBates pay out if I PAY with a merchant gift card to that retailer?
– are we able to double dip (eBates and hotel points) on most hotel transactions? I’ve received cashback on one hotel double dip but I want to see if this is true for all the other hotel brands on eBates.

For question 1, it depends more on the retailer than Ebates. I believe some retailers will let you earn cash when you buy a gift card and when you pay using a gift card. As for the hotel double dipping, as long as you booking it through the official hotel website from Ebates (not using an OTA like Travelocity or Hotels.com), you should earn cash back and hotel points/elite credit.
