6 Wyndham Timeshare Vacation Packages Under $200 (3 Days / 2 Nights)

Good afternoon everyone.  I have a short post about Wyndham Timeshare Vacation Packages.  Right now, there are 6 different vacation packages available under $200.  Each timeshare vacation package is 3 days / 2 nights.  According to the terms, you must attend a 120 minute timeshare presentation (and if you are married, your spouse must attend as well).  I have done a few timeshare vacation packages in the past and have a Westin Mission Hills Resort in Palm Springs and Hyatt Carmel Highlands timeshare package booked for the near future.  Timeshare presentations are not terrible and the great vacation packages will save you hundreds of dollars.

There are 6 different vacation packages available.  Oceanside is a nice beach community between Los Angeles and San Diego.  Williamsburg is great if you are into US Civil War history.  If you have young kids, Orlando could be a great option.  I am not interested in any of these locations, so I am going to pass.  These offers come around every month or so.

Here are the complete terms and conditions of the timeshare vacation packages:

Offer Details: You, and your spouse if married, must attend a 120-minute CLUB WYNDHAM® timeshare sales presentation. Please read our Terms and Conditions to see if you meet the minimum eligibility requirements. Earliest available check-in is 8 days from the vacation purchase date. Transportation, gratuities, parking fees, room taxes ($7-$72) and meals not specifically advertised and incidentals are not included. The retail value of this package may depend on room availability, additional feature(s) and travel dates selected. Offer expires August 24, 2018. Valid for residents of select states. Void where prohibited. Offers brought to you by Wyndham Vacation Resorts.

One thing that often gets overlooked. You dont actually stay at the Wyndham property. They put you up somewhere near by. I called once I was given each hotel for each area. Some hotels aren’t that great.

Do you know if they put you up in chain hotels or independent hotels near the Wyndham timeshare? I can’t understand why Wyndham would want you to stay somewhere else when they are trying to sell you on their timeshare property.

A little of both from what I remember. This was last year. I was going to select the Oceanside property for a beach getaway. They advised me I would be staying at the Holiday Inn near by. To your point, why would I not stay on property if you want me to invest in a timeshare?? One other I remember was the Sir Francis Drake hotel for their SF property.

So, so strange. If I was running a timeshare company, that is the last thing I would do to people who could potentially buy a timeshare. But I guess that is a good reason not to buy a timeshare if they won’t even let you stay in them during your stay.

If you’re flexible with your dates you can usually get the ‘better’ of the 2 or 3 properties they offer – but yes, they are sometimes none of the actual property you would own if you bought. San Francisco gives you the choice of the Pier 2620 or the Sir Francis Drake (which are actually just as nice as the Wyndham property – and in nicer locations I think). Chicago (not an option for the deal Grant mentioned) you can usually get the Wyndham or the Hotel Monaco (right next door to the Wyndham). The presentations are always at the actual properties – so you get to see what you would buy (of course, don’t buy).
One more thing – when you call, you can usually feign indecision and they will drop the price or add a day/night – or throw in some sort of other gift (usually an AMEX gift card). You might even get them to offer more destinations – like SF or Chicago – albeit for more money (those might be $199 for 3days/2nights. I’ve done many of these (3 in Chicago, 2 in SF). Harmless and great deals. I had the Oceanside one scheduled (Holiday Inn) but changed it to SF. They want your money and the opportunity to sell you a timeshare so they will be flexible.

Yeah, if you’ve gotten to the point that you actually fill out the loan forms for initial credit pull (thus giving them your SSN) then you need to work on your ‘saying no’ ability before you go on these next time. :)

The time share presenters will ask for DLs and a major credit card. Have never given any my Social Security Number but last Wyndam time share presentation the hard pull showed up, although my SO and I had asked and were told all Wyndam did was a soft pull. Saw on CreditKarma (Equifax) as “Wyndham Vacation Own” category “Mortgage Cos.” Don’t know how this was done without our SS#s, but appears on both our CreditKarma reports.

Very sketchy from Wyndham. I’ve never had any other timeshare presentation do a hard or soft credit pull. Thanks for letting us know.

Wow! AlohaDaveKennedy, thanks for the info. Also, It’s like seeing a ghost from the past, as I used to see your comments on flyertalk years ago before everyone went underground with their info/sharing. Cheers

Nice of DoC to pick this up, but from my past checking into this, I’d simply invoke Nancy Reagan to

    Just say no…..

I nearly fell for one of these promos few years ago, and Oceanside was on the list then too. But I had trouble getting advance assurance of just where we’d be staying…. (and no, it even be wish some of the far less “delightful” properties — and nowhere near the beach….) When they kept stalling on the exact accommodations, I cancelled the whole thing.

I generally like the Wyndham program — even stay at Days Inn once in a while. But these WR time share promos are for the birds.

ps, about Williamsburg, what did that ever have to do with the “US civil war history?” Great commercialized history town to be sure, but for other reasons. (think colonial, pre-war heritage)

Also, like many of the communities listed, $150 for two nights in Williamsburg is hardly “saving you hundreds.” More often (especially in fall, spring, and esp. winter), that would be getting ripped off. (even for nice, if aging properties)

You make several good points. “Saving hundred” depends on the time of year you visit. I’ve had good luck with my timeshare presentation but never attended a Wyndham timeshare presentation, so I don’t know how those compare to Westin / Sheraton / Hilton timeshare presentations.

Our family stayed at the Wyndham Clearwater Beach last March and had a great time. The hotel is really nice and at a perfect location. We had the option of two nights for 149 or three nights for 199. We did the three nights for 199 plus got 15000 Wyndham points. The presentation still took us right around 2 hours even though we made it clear that we were not purchasing anything. Looks like you can attend a presentation every 6 months or so. Our timeshare salesman was super surprised that this was our first presentation with them as he has seen couples that have been on dozens of them. At the Clearwater location you stay on the owner side so you avoid paying for parking and avoid the resort fee.

I’m glad you had a good experience at the timeshare presentation and staying at the Wyndham in Clearwater. I’m surprised they let you attend every 6 months, most timeshare vacation package offers are once per year.
