How to Add a Credit Card to Shopkick

Create a Shopkick account here.

First off, I want to thank those of you who have already signed up for Shopkick through my sign up link above.  I hope you have already started earning Shopkick Kicks and are almost ready to redeem your Kicks for gift cards.  In case you have absolutely no idea what I am talking about, please read Office Depot + Plink + Shopkick = 1 Big Happy Family.

I should have explained in more detail how to add a credit card (preferably a Chase Ink Bold/Plus MC/Visa) to your Shopkick account.  So this post is better late than never.  It is actually quite easy to do in just a few steps…

Log into your Shopkick account on your smartphone and click on Settings in the lower left corner.

Deja Vu: 11 More Reams of Free Printer Paper from Staples and $10 in Free Coffee

I promise you, this is not a joke.  Staples has the same FAR (Free After Rebate) deal as last week.  Take a look at the coupon expiration dates if you don’t believe me.  Each FAR deal has a different rebate number, so they are technically different rebates.  Therefore, if you got 11 reams of free paper last week, you can do the same this week.

Office Depot + Plink + Shopkick = 1 Big Happy Family

UPDATE 3/23/2014 at 11AM PST:  Shopkick lowered the amount that you will earn for shopping at Office Depot, so I had to recalculate my numbers.  Thank you Rajiv for the heads up.

Plink Points not enough?  Well, you are in luck then.  A new company called Shopkick will reward you with Shopkick “Kicks” aka points for certain purchases.  The great thing is you can double dip with Plink Points and Shopkick Kicks on all Office Depot purchases.  You can link up to 6 Visa and MasterCard credit cards to Shopkick (hopefully one is an Ink Bold/Plus card).  The payout structure is shown below.  You earn 1 Kick per dollar plus bonus Kicks if you spend more than $25, $50, or $75.

Office Depot Shopkick Payout

Let’s say you wanted to buy a $200 Visa gift card at Office Depot with your Chase Ink Bold card, your total would come to $206.95.  Here is what you would get back:

  • 207 x 5 = 1,035 Chase Ultimate Reward Points
  • 300 Plink Points = $3.00 in Amazon/Walmart gift cards
  • 206+ 375 = 581 Shopkick Kicks = $? (see below)

$99 Amazon Prime starting March 20, $30 Office Depot Plink Cap, and a Small VRC Change

According to the Wall Street Journal (article), Amazon will raise the price of their Prime Membership from $79 to $99 starting March 20.  If your subscription renews after that date, you will be charged the new subscription price.  Luckily, Dan’s Deal has all the details here.  Dan shows you how you can “gift yourself” a year of Amazon Prime.  You can gift yourself another year of Amazon Prime here.

If you are new to Amazon Prime, you can try a 30 day free trial here.

I almost forgot to mention, you can take advantage of this trick to give Amazon Prime to family members for free here.

I don’t want to say that I warned you, but I warned you… Here is what the Office Depot Plink offer looked like on Day 1:

Can’t we just all get along (and have both Staples and Office Depot as Plink participating merchants)?  Well today is the day that Staples says good bye and Office Depot says hello.

Plink Staples and Office Depot

Here are the full terms for Office Depot and Plink.  They have the same points-earning structure as Staples, but this offer will only be around until April 10.  Then what?  Office Max’s turn to be a Plink merchant?  If you look at the terms of the offer closely, you will see that there is no “limit 10 transactions per month” clause.  I bet we will see that line appear soon.
