Good morning everyone, happy Thursday! In this post, I will show you how to redeem your US Bank Cash Plus cash back for a statement credit (or deposit into a linked bank account or for a Visa Gift Card). I recently signed up for the US Bank Cash Plus Credit Card when there was a $100 sign up bonus. I spent $2,000 on the card buying Sears eGift Cards (5% cash back category), so I ended up having exactly $200 cash back in my US Bank Cash Plus account.
You can view your current cash back balance and the breakdown of the cash back by logging into your US Bank online account, clicking the My Accounts tab, then My Rewards, then Rewards History. If you have multiple US Bank credit cards, you will have to select the card from the drop down menu. My account shows the sign up bonus, the base earnings for my Sears purchases, and the bonus cash back.
If you go to the first tab (My Rewards), click Show Rewards Details to see a more detailed look at your cash back.
At the bottom of the rewards summary, click Redeem Rewards.
You have 3 redemption options:
- Statement Credit (to pay a portion of your US Bank Cash Plus Credit Card)
- Bank Deposit (into a linked bank account)
- Rewards Card (Visa Gift Card mailed to you via USPS First Class Mail)
Tip: Redeem in $100 increments to receive a $25 bonus into your US Bank Cash Plus cash back account. I went so fast that I didn’t see that message during the redemption process.
Verify the transaction details and click Submit.
If you requested a statement credit or bank deposit, the funds should show up in 1-2 business days. If you requested a Visa Gift Card, you will probably need to wait 5-10 business days for the VGC arrives in the mail.
My statement credit posted to my US Bank Cash Plus Credit Card in 2 business days.
As soon as the statement credit posts, My Rewards is updated with my current cash back balance. Click Show Rewards Details to see more details of your cash back balance.
You can view lifetime cash back earned and redeemed.
On my next statement, I see a $200 statement credit along with a $25 cash back bonus (due to redeeming $200). I should have redeemed $100, received a $25 bonus, redeemed another $100, and received another $25 bonus. Learn from my mistake and redeem in $100 increments.
The $25 cash back bonus showed up in my Rewards History and is ready for my next redemption.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone!
Doesn’t US Bank now limit the $25 bonus on $100 redemptions to once per calendar year?
They updated the Terms and Conditions so now you only get the $25 bonus once per lifetime.
It was originally with every $100 redemption, then once a year, and now once period.
they nerfed that. first it was unlimited, then 1 $25 bonus per calendar year, now once period..
Ahh bummer, well I guess I can live with once per period (quarter?)
As Zooter said, they changed the T&C in April of this year. You only get one $25 per LIFETIME as of April 2015. From now on you can redeem in any denomination you want.
That’s lame, US Bank. Be more generous!
For some reason i’ve never had the option for $200 it only sits at $34. Is there a reason for this? I’ve spent the correct amount.
I’m not sure. Do you have $34 of cash back rewards in your account?
