In the comments section of that post, reader PJ mentioned that if you pay the $200 down payment, and wait a few weeks or months to lock down your vacation package dates, you may get a discounted offer. PJ said that he received an offer for $29 to confirm his travel package dates. A few days after paying the $200 down payment, I received this email from Westin Vacations. For only $99, I can lock down my vacation package dates between June 1 and September 30. Let me remind you, that this property is in Palm Springs, and it will easily be 100+ degrees during those days. I decided to pass on this deal since I wanted to go in the fall when it would be less than 100 degrees. If you were offered this option, would you stay during those scorching summer months?
In other timeshare vacation package news, I received this email from Wyndham yesterday. For $149 to $199, you can stay 3 days / 2 nights at 6 different properties. There is no unique offer code, so you can call the number below and sign up.
Here are the 6 participating cities with timeshare vacation packages. I don’t have plans to be in any of these cities during the rest of the year, but these seem like pretty good deals.
Unfortunately, attending a timeshare sales presentation is mandatory. Here are the complete terms and conditions:
Eligibility: Must attend a 120-minute CLUB WYNDHAM® timeshare sales presentation with your partner if married or cohabitating. This promotional package is designed for individuals who are 55 years of age or older or 28 to 54 years of age with a minimum annual household income of $60,000. Wyndham Vacation Ownership employees, Owners and persons having attended a CLUB WYNDHAM® sales presentation within the last 6 months are ineligible. Photo ID and a major credit card required upon check-in. (Debit cards are not considered a major credit card).
Wyndham Austin Resort Information: Some areasof the resort may be under construction during your stay and some amenities may not be available at the time of arrival.
