Good morning everyone, I hope you had a great weekend. A few weeks ago, I wrote Too Many JetBlue Points from Amazon Shopping? Convert them into Other Miles & Points. In that post, I showed how you could convert your JetBlue TrueBlue points into Air Canada Aeroplan miles, Amtrak Guest Rewards points, IHG Rewards points, & La Quinta Returns points. Aeroplan is a great option if you can find Star Alliance saver award space. I had not tested the speed of transferring JetBlue TrueBlue points into Air Canada Aeroplan miles with Points.com, but I decided to test it out this weekend. The good news? The transfer takes less than 24 hours and there are no fees. The bad news? 1,000 JetBlue TrueBlue points will only get you 425 Air Canada Aeroplan miles. With that said, let me show you how to transfer JetBlue TrueBlue points into Air Canada Aeroplan miles. Sign into your Points.com account and click on the JetBlue TrueBlue square.
Click the Exchange tab and click the “Exchange Out Of” box.
Select JetBlue from the list then click the “Exchange Into” box.
Select Air Canada Aeroplan. Here is what the transfer setup should look like.
There is a slider at the bottom of the page that lets you convert JetBlue TrueBlue points into Air Canada Aeroplan miles. The minimum transfer is 1,000 JetBlue TrueBlue points and the maximum transfer is 50,000 JetBlue TrueBlue points per year. Confirm the number of JetBlue TrueBlue points you want to convert into Air Canada Aeroplan miles and click the Exchange button. Then double check everything and click the Yes, Exchange button.
The exchange will process in a few seconds and then you will receive a confirmation email from Points.com.
You can then go to the Activity tab under JetBlue and Air Canada to see the pending transaction details.
I initiated the transfer at 5:24pm on March 24 and received the completion email at 11:21am on March 25. I’m not sure if the transfer times will be the same for all transfers. Interestingly, the first email said that the transaction was requested on March 25, when I actually initiated the transfer on March 24. The transaction did complete on March 25 though.
I then logged into my JetBlue account to view the details of the outgoing points transfer. The JetBlue TrueBlue points were withdrawn from my account on March 25.
Strangely, the Air Canada Aeroplan miles show March 24 as the date the miles were deposited into my account. It’s a big mess on the dates, but everything happened in less than 24 hours.
Back on Points.com, the Activity tab shows that the transaction was completed successfully.
I don’t have plans on sending over all my JetBlue TrueBlue points to Air Canada Aeroplan miles, but I do want to top up my Aeroplan account to redeem all my Aeroplan miles for an award ticket. If you do not have a Points.com account, create a free account and add your loyalty programs to the website. If you have any questions about the points transfer process, please let me know. Have a great day everyone!
