Good afternoon everyone, I hope you had a great weekend. 2 years ago, I wrote about Trim: Trim Saves Money on Monthly Cable / Phone / TV / Internet Bills (Negotiates Discounts on your Behalf). Fast forward to today and Trim is still saving me money. A few days ago, I got an email from Comcast Xfinity that said I was receiving a $15 credit. Every few months, Trim will contact Comcast Xfinity on my behalf and negotiate a lower monthly bill or find a promo I am eligible for. I do not have to do anything other than sit back and wait for the savings.
2 days after receiving the above email from Comcast Xfinity, I received this email from Trim with the details of the negotiation savings. Trim takes a 33% fee for their work, so I will need to pay $4.95 for the $15 savings, which is still a big win in my book.
If you haven’t used Trim before, I highly recommend signing up and seeing what kind of savings Trim can get for you. Trim can negotiate bills with many different companies and save you money. If you have any questions about Trim, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone!
I usually call xfinity myself every year and I have some credits applied monthly for internet and they bundle it with Basic TV which I rarely watch and I’m saving $10; otherwise internet by itself would be more expensive go figure….Do you have a similar plan and does trim get you more on top of that?
We have a combo plan (X1 Starter Triple Plan) which includes internet, cable TV, and home security. I think our plan is more expensive than your plan, but I’m fairly confident Trim should be able to save you some money. One thing that Trim is good at is calling Comcast Xfinity whenever there is a service outage and Trim is usually able to get $10-$20 back as a credit.
Cool thanks, I think I’ll try it out.
Sounds good, let me know how it goes. I believe it takes Trim a few days to call on your behalf, so don’t expect an immediate savings, but the savings should be worth the wait.
The only negative I experienced was them extending my contract on my behalf to save the money. This is the only reason I cancelled as I prefer flexibility.
Hi Scott, when you link your cable / tv / internet / cell phone provider to Trim, you can specify what you want Trim to do. You can enable / disable these 5 features:
1. Are you on a grandfathered plan?
2. Can we accept a 12-month contract on your behalf?
3. Can we accept a 24-month contract on your behalf?
4. Can we make changes to your plan? (recommended)
5. Can we renegotiate your bill on an ongoing basis? (recommended)
If you configure these settings correctly, you should be fine.
