Good afternoon everyone, this is a followup post to Requesting New Chase EMV Cards: Freedom, United MileagePlus, and Southwest Airlines Plus & Premier. I am still waiting for my new Chase United Airlines MileagePlus Credit Card to arrive in the mail, but I have 3 new credit card designs to show you. The top row shows the front and back of my old Chase Freedom Credit Card. It looks like Chase removed the Blink feature (WiFi symbol on the back), which allowed you to pay by placing your credit card near a payment reader. I never used Blink and never saw it mentioned anywhere by Chase.
The top row shows the front and back of my old Chase Southwest Airlines Premier Credit Card. The new design has the word ‘Premier’ in the upper right corner and added a few zeros in front of my Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards account number (I’m not sure why, unless Southwest Airlines is anticipating adding 10 billion more accounts).
The top row shows the front and back of my old Chase Southwest Airlines Plus Credit Card. The only major change I can see is that Chase added 5 more zeros in front my Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards account number (insert same joke as above).
To activate the new credit cards, I went to Chase’s verification website and logged into my Chase account. I then activated each card, one by one.
After activating the first card, I was able to activate the second and third card.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone!
Cool, I requested and got the Freedom chip and sig enabled card several weeks ago…actually, in early January, I believe. Not going to bother with the Southwest cards because I intend on canceling them..
I don’t really care about EMV cards either, I only take a few credit cards internationally and the Chase Freedom and both Southwest credit cards are not on the list.
I just called Chase to get an EMV chip and sig for Chase United MileagePlus card and was told that Chase was not yet distributing these types of cards. Anyone else get the same message?
