Good morning everyone. Hot on the heels of the Westin Vacation Package I received for the Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas on Maui, I just received a similar offer for the Hyatt Ka’anapali Beach resort on Maui. Unfortunately, this offer is more expensive and has a timeshare presentation requirement. If you want to see the cool landing page Hyatt created for this offer, click here.
In the small print, it says that a 90-120 minute timeshare presentation is required and that you must have a combined annual household income of $125,000+, be 27 years or older, and be a homeowner. I struck out on all 3 requirements.
I believe this offer is targeted to specific Hyatt users (I do have a Chase Hyatt Credit Card), but there is a phone number and email address listed below that you can contact if you are interested. Since I am already going to Maui with the Westin Vacation Package (no timeshare requirement) and I do not qualify for this timeshare offer, I am going to pass on this offer. Here are all the small print details of the timeshare presentation.
I wouldn’t be too surprised to see IHG, Marriott, and Hilton send out vacation packages or timeshare presentations for their properties in Maui in the near future. If you have any questions about the offer, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone!
P.S. I am off to see a movie screening of Money Monster with George Clooney and Julia Roberts tonight. Thanks Advance Screenings!
That’s actually a good deal. I paid 1695 for the same exact package last year for that type of room and had to attend a time share presentation. This is 200 less
Did you like the property? Were there lots of activities?
The timeshare stuff is something really interesting that I only see you blogging about. How do you get targeted for all of these timeshare/vacation package deals?
Hmm, I don’t know. I have all the hotel credit cards so I think they target cardholders. I’m not sure what else they look at in terms of qualifications.
From the headline, I was expecting a review of the Hyatt timeshare presentation experience. Not just a review of the offer.
Sorry for the confusing headline :(
i got the offer 2 yrs ago when they still using the old Hyatt next door to present the new property under construction. no big deal because the offer was 399 for the same package( jaw drop please). i took the offer with Diamond benefits, awesome stay
Nice, that sounds like a great deal. $399 is so cheap. I’m sure your stay was awesome.
I did this last year as well but it was 995 for the 6 days/5 nights in a 2-bedroom. It was fantastic.
Gotcha, from what I’m hearing, it looks like the price of this offer changes throughout the year. I’m glad you had a great stay. Was there a lot of activities on site?
I stayed there last year and it’s an awesome property next door to the Hyatt Regency Maui and shares amenities with it. It’s a 2 bedroom/2 bath and has a full kitchen. Different style of vacation from your standard hotel room.
I have a review on my travel blog in case you want more details: http://www.thefamilytravelguy.com/2015/10/review-hyatt-residence-club-maui-kaanapali.html
Very cool, I’ll check out your trip report soon. Thanks Randy!
Pricey but the rooms are literally gorgeous and nicer than any hotel you will stay at …
I did the Hyatt regency Maui stay for 5 nights for $399 but had to visit the regency suite club next door as part of the requirement . Amazing rooms. I would never buy a timeshare though haha
I’m sure the rooms are amazing, they better be considering the nightly rates are $1000+. Timeshare ownership (if you buy direct) is a terrible investment. Glad you had a great time in Maui.
I remember the guy trying to sell to me — if you don’t use your time share that year we will give you 90,000 Hyatt points — you can use that for 18 nights at a Hyatt hotel!!!! (HOA/Maintenance fee per year was like $2500- $3000 or so I think …?).
I was like “ok I guess ,if you go to a category 1 hotel (don’t try to fool me man)”
Haha, the guy selling me a Hilton timeshare only knew about 2 Hilton Credit Cards (there are actually 4). The sales people are not used to talking to travel hackers like us :)
I’ve only gotten offers for their property in Sedona, which is only an hour and a half’s drive from us. However, as I’m typing this, my husband informes me that he refuses to sit through a sales presentation, even though it’s only $185 for 3 nights + 10,000 bonus points!
Haha, I look at it like they are paying me to sit through the presentation and instead of paying me with cash, they are paying me with a cheap hotel stay and other perks :)
Same here! However, the fine print says your companion *has* to accompany you. I also noticed the minimum annual salary for my offer is $75,000 whereas yours is $125,000, for which we would not qualify!
Honestly, they do not ask or verify the income, so that shouldn’t be a deterrent if you are otherwise interested in attending the presentation.
Lol I got that same offer via email. It’s not a bad deal for the property in sedona and the presentations I’ve been to elsewhere aren’t that bad. A little research before you go in and saying a few key words will let them know you know a lot about the program and won’t be buying.
Ahh, maybe I can convince him with a little research. I wonder how strict they are about the companion rule.
I think it depends on the property, but in most cases they want 2 people to go together.

For the Hyatt regency club offer, I couldn’t locate where the requirement to be an “Home Owner” in the offer letter
I don’t think that requirement is enforced, I’ve never been asked or been asked for proof. Don’t let that stop you.
