$100 Statement Credit from Delta AMEX Offer Posts Very Quickly

Good afternoon everyone.  A few days ago, American Express released a few new AMEX Offers, the best being for Delta Airlines.  Spend $500 or more on Delta airline tickets and get a $100 statement credit.  If you have any travel coming up on Delta, this is an easy offer to complete.  Unfortunately, this offer is somewhat targeted and only showed up on 2 of my 6 cards (Old Blue Cash and Blue Cash Everyday).  In this post, I will show you how quickly the $100 statement credit posts after you purchase your Delta airline tickets online.

Delta AMEX Offer $100 Off $500

As luck would have it, I needed to book some Delta flights for my parents over the weekend.  I priced out the cost for 2 roundtrip flights and the total came to $541.  Delta is the only airline that has nonstop flights from Orange County (SNA) to Salt Lake City (SLC), so the choice was easy.  There were a few other options near the same price, but they all had 1 stop.  Factoring in the $100 statement credit (or $50 saving per ticket) and the Delta flights were the best deal.

I booked the flights directly on Delta’s website on Sunday, March 19 at 12pm and received the AMEX Offer email a few minutes later.

The transactions posted separately on March 20 (each ticket was $270.40) and the $100 statement credit posted the following day on March 21.

Here are more details of the $100 statement credit.

I have 1 more Delta AMEX Offer loaded to my American Express credit card, so I will be on the look out for the next time I can book a paid Delta flight(s) that costs more than $500.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone!

Do you know if physical or e-gift card purchases from delta.com count? I don’t see them excluded in the terms, but not specifically included either. Thanks.

Hmm, I want to say no, otherwise I would have heard the GC and eGC purchases would count. I would do a quick search on FlyerTalk to see if you find any data points.

I saw the offer 2 days ago on my SPG Amex Card. I did not click to save the offer. Now it is GONE! It did not appear on my Delta or Hilton Amex card sites.

Yes, that does happen. Some AMEX Offers only have a limit on the number of cards they can be linked to, so it is best to add all the offers you see that you like.
