Good morning everyone, I just received an email from Hyatt’s PR team about their latest announcement: HYATT LAUNCHES NEW BRAND: THE UNBOUND COLLECTION BY HYATT. Here is the intro to the press release:
CHICAGO (March 2, 2016) – Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) today announced the launch of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, a global collection of unique and independent stay experiences. The Unbound Collection by Hyatt will include a portfolio of new and existing upper-upscale and luxury properties that will maintain a distinct character while providing guests and owners Hyatt’s award-winning customer loyalty program, robust operational and marketing resources and trusted, quality brand.
The properties within The Unbound Collection by Hyatt – which will include historic urban gems, contemporary trend-setters, boutique hotels, resorts, and more – will have their own individual brand identities, free from constraint or convention. At the same time, the brand will provide guests the freedom from worry by giving them the high-quality that comes with the Hyatt brand.
2 of the featured hotels to join the Unbound Collection include the Hotel Driskill and Hôtel du Louvre. If you want to learn more about the Unbound Collection concept, check out the full Unbound Collection website. You can currently book rooms at the Hotel Driskill tonight, with rates starting at 20,000 Hyatt Gold Passport Points or 10,000 Hyatt Gold Passport Points + $125. This is a category 5 hotel, so you will not be able to use your annual Hyatt Free Night certificate that is only valid at category 1-4 hotels.
You can currently book rooms at the Hôtel du Louvre tonight, with rates starting at 20,000 Hyatt Gold Passport Points or 10,000 Hyatt Gold Passport Points + €106. This is a category 5 hotel, so you will not be able to use your annual Hyatt Free Night certificate that is only valid at category 1-4 hotels.
Since these hotels were just added to the Unbound Collection, the paid rates should be pretty good and the award space (both points and cash + points) is plentiful. Is anyone planning on booking a stay at any of the new Unbound Collection hotels? If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone!
Yes! This is great news.
Yes, I like having more great hotel options and the points prices seem like pretty good deals to me.
Exactly! Hopefully, they add more new hotels rather than just moving their existing hotels into this collection

I’ve never been to Asia, but I can give you some recommendations for Europe. The Park Hyatt Vendome is awesome and the Andaz Amsterdam has a very cool vibe. I think there is a Park hyatt in Milan and Zurich that are supposed to be very good too.
