Good morning everyone, happy Friday. Last weekend, I took 3 Lyft rides to/from various airports and have some data points on the recent JetBlue & Lyft promotion and Delta & Lyft promotion. Here are the 3 different rides:
- Miami International Airport (MIA) to Miami Beach for some Cuban food
- Cuban restaurant to Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL)
- San Francisco (SFO) to my apartment in San Francisco and my brother’s apartment in Larkspur
As a reminder, here is the link for the JetBlue & Lyft promotion. You can earn a flat 30 JetBlue TrueBlue Points when you take Lyft rides to or from an airport, up to 1,200 JetBlue TrueBlue Points per calendar year (40 rides max). If you are not a Lyft rider, you can sign up with my referral link and get $5 toward your first ride.
The 30 JetBlue TrueBlue Points from my 3 rides posted very quickly – I think the same day or the next day at the latest.
Not to be outdone, Delta just announced their Delta & Lyft promotion. For a limited time, you can earn 3x Delta SkyMiles for every dollar spent on Lyft rides to or from the airport (base fares only, not including service charges, tolls, or tip). You will also earn 1x Delta SkyMiles for every dollar spent on all other Lyft rides.
The Delta SkyMiles from my 3 rides posted very quickly – I think the same day or the next day at the latest.
I’m not sure if Lyft wants to payout miles and points twice for select airport rides, so maybe this double dip opportunity will be short-lived. I’m not sure. If you have any questions about Lyft, please leave a comment below. Have a great weekend everyone!
P.S. If you are not an Uber driver either, you can use my referral link to get $20 off your Uber rides.

FWIW, on the day the Delta Lyft partnership was announced, I asked Lyft, Delta, and JetBlue on Twitter if promos could be combined. Only Delta responded and said you could only earn points for one airline. https://twitter.com/delta/status/864908215242326017
Based on your experience, looks like Delta’s response was incorrect.
Hmm, I guess Delta only wanted you to earn miles on their ride :)
Happy to debunk the myth :)
I assume you had to use a Delta affiliated credit card?
Nope, I used my US Bank Cash Plus CC for 5% cash back on transportation. Any credit card should work.
