  • Luke US: Dear Grant, I would really love to win this nice contest! I have 19k miles, and only need 1k miles to book my award trip to Europe and see my family! Thank you so very much!!
  • Ryan: Condor’s cheap SAN-FRA this summer! I flew it last summer—so convenient and cheap in Alaska miles!

Luke and Ryan, please check your email for an email from me regarding your Alaska Airlines account information.  Thank you and happy holidays everyone!

Good morning everyone. I can’t believe it is only 4 more days to Christmas – luckily, I am in the giving mood.  A few days ago, Alaska Airlines sent me an email telling me that I could transfer Alaska Airlines miles for free, due to my Alaska Airlines MVP Gold elite status.  There really isn’t much need for this, since you can always book an award ticket for someone else with Alaska Airlines miles, but I did find a need.  My dad hasn’t flown Alaska Airlines in awhile, so I got an email from Award Wallet telling me his Alaska Airlines miles were going to expire in a few months.  Thanks to this promo, I transfered a few Alaska Airlines miles to his account to reset his expiration date.  After that, I thought I could help a few other people who need 1,000 Alaska Airlines miles to top up for an award ticket.  Keep reading to find out more…

Here are the complete terms and conditions of the offer.  I can only transfer Alaska Airlines miles to 3 different accounts, and since I already transferred miles to my dad’s account, I have 2 more slots available.

If you’re a member of Alaska Mileage Plan™ with a status of MVP® or above, you can transfer up to a total of 40,000 Mileage Plan Miles by December 28, and we will waive the normal transfer costs ($10.00 per 1,000 miles, plus a fee of $25.00 per transfer). A minimum transfer of 1,000 miles is required. You can divide your gift among up to three Mileage Plan accounts. Other terms and conditions of the Mileage Plan and the Transfer Miles programs apply. Free Transfer transactions must be completed between 6:00 AM PST December 15, 2017 and 11:59 PM PST December 28, 2017. Only Mileage Plan™ members who receive this offer directly from Alaska Airlines via email are qualified to participate. This is an exclusive, non-transferable offer for the intended recipient only and may not be forwarded.

If you are interested, please leave a comment below before 11:59pm PT on 12/21 (today!) and tell me what type of award ticket you would book if you had an extra 1,000 Alaska Airlines miles. I will pick 2 winners Friday morning and email them directly.  If you are chosen, please respond to my email and provide your full name and Alaska Airlines account number.  I will then process the transfer and you should have the Alaska Airlines miles right away.

    Hi
I am excited to post my future award ticket
I want to do 50k in business on cathay pacific from YYZ to HKG TO PEK by Alaska. I got 800 miles short.

Could you please pick me and award me 1000 miles so that I could redeem this ticket to reunion with my 90 years old grandma?

Thank you. Have a good holiday!

Im just under 30,000 miles with my dads account. He closed his card so I can’t get miles. I’m trying to get 30,000 to go towards a trip to Thailand on Cathay Pacific.

I’m attempting to book my new Parents-in-Law the return leg from Oktoberfest next September as a gift for cutting the check for the wedding to their daughter. I found and booked Biz space on AA from PHL-Prague in mid-Sept. Now I need their return. Munich has no biz class back to PHL, obviously..it’s Oktoberfest1 However, there is space from FRA and I’m planning on sending them on a “free one-way” to OGG (Maui) which is partially in domestic biz class after a 4 month stopover at their home airport. I found the space just need the miles :)
This is going to be an awesome treat for them. Biz Class home from Europe + partial domestic biz class out to Maui.

Frankly, I am not really short by 1000 miles. But, I would use it towards CX F for sure. You should give it to me knowing that they will go to a good redemption home.

These would help me get the 120k I need for two OW business tickets to Tokyo – a celebratory end of PhD trip with my (soon-to-be) wife! Alaska from my home city to SFO and then two seats on JAL 1 to HND – Never been on an airline’s flight XX001 before!

I’m planning a trip from JFK to Del with my mom on Cathay business next fall. A few thousand miles short but with transferring those weekly Marriot-spg points and (hopefully) this I will be right where I need to be point wise. Happy holidays

    Hi Grant,

Enjoyed reading your blog. I am about 2000 short for a 25k JAL Business class award that I would book for my mom for a Japan – Thailand trip originating from Vietnam. I’m planning to book SGN – TYO (stopover) – BKK, adding a cheap Airasia/Vietjet Air ticket to go back to SGN. Outstanding value for 25k miles for about 11 hours Roundtrip in JAL lie flat business class. JAL is selling these for about $2k, which make it a 8cpm redemption!

    Thanks,
    Trung

I just started collecting Alaska miles to help towards business class flights over to Europe in late 2018. I love the redemption value

I have an award booked for next summer HKG-BOS in business class. I’m about 3,000 miles short of being able to move to 1st class (where there is availability). It would be much appreciated.

I would be happy to have the miles added to my Alaska Airlines Mileage Account for a future trip on Cathay Pacific in business class to Hong Kong.

Hey Grant, first of all I’d like to thank you for this very generous offer. I am excited about the new CX route from IAD to HKG. Hong Kong is one of my favorite cities in the world with a world class night scene and an endless variety of food from all over the world, from Michelin starred restaurants to humble food stands down a side alley in Mongkok. I have read so much about The Pier and The Wing and can’t wait to try it out while trying out this exciting new route.

I am just over 32,000 miles short of a redemption. I am planning to apply for the BofA Alaska Airlines VISA Signature card next year (tried this year but they were only willing to give me the visa platinum version). That should take care of 30,000 + 1,000. Your offer of 1,000 miles will go really far to get me to Hong Kong on this exciting new route!

    Thanks so much again!

We had planned to visit Bali as part of our honeymoon last oct. due to fears of Mt Agung erupting (which it eventually did, but weeks later), we had to redo our whole honeymoon itinerary. We cut out Bali, but the Conrad Bali would not refund our money, but instead give us credit to apply toward another booking within 1 year. SQ was also gracious enough to let us rebook our original SIN-DPS biz flight to anytime within one year. So we’re booking Bali for our 1 year anniversary.

Long story short, I could use he miles to book LAX-HKG-BKK (stopover) -SIN on Cathay Pacific in Business class for our one year anniversary.

I would book a flight to Chile with a stopover in Santiago and then continuing to Easter Island. It’s very hard to come up with availability but with Alaska I can have a stopover! Yay!!!
