Updated 12pm PT on 5/22: I selected 5 winners and emailed them asking for their shirt size and mailing address. The winners are listed at the bottom of this post. Thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway.
Good morning everyone, happy Friday! I have a short weekend trip with my brother to Portland and we will be exploring waterfalls and hikes around Salem. Oh, I almost forgot, May 1 was TWG’s 5th birthday / blogiversary. I have been busy with work, Cinco de Mayo, and Mother’s Day, that TWG’s 5th birthday / blogiversary totally slipped my mind. I can’t believe I am still blogging, but I owe it all to my readers who read, comment, and share my posts everyday. You guys (and gals) keep me going!
To show my appreciation, I wanted to do a giveaway. I usually give out Amazon eGift Cards, but I thought I would do something more special for TWG’s 5th birthday / blogiversary. I am giving out 5 TWG shirts to 5 readers. I will order your size and mail the shirt to you. If you are not a fan of the TWG shirt and would rather have an Amazon eGift Card, that can be arranged too! Read on for how to enter the giveaway…
To be eligible for the contest, you must be a TWG superfan, you must love to travel, and you must have a US shipping address. If you fit those 3 criteria, you can enter the giveaway. To enter the giveaway, please leave a comment on this post before 11:59pm PT on Sunday, May 20 and answer this question: What is/was your favorite TWG topic/post to read? I will pick 5 winners on Monday and email them asking for their shirt size and mailing address. Thank you to everyone who reads TWG and good luck to everyone who enters the giveaway. Have a great weekend everyone!
Here are the 5 winners:
Meg | You are probably the only one who has written about USBank Flexperks. Very disappointed about how USBank has changed the redemption. I also liked how you gave away your points. I wish I had learned earlier about how to redeem Flexperks poins for the maximum. Would have saved me a ton of money. |
Ozzi | Woohoo! Happy Birthday!! I thought I missed it as I really want TWG Tshirt back to Feb. 21 about the topic of Visa Savings Edge offer. I really like reading all posts about the credit card applying strategy/ App-O-Rama Game Plan and retention analysis. I do benefit learning a lot from you. Thanks TWG again!!! |
Joe-SC1 | Congratulations! Quite the achievement – 5 years. Most don’t survive that long. I recall one metric saying that, in the past 6 years, 35% of travel-related blogs had gone silent. So, very nicely done, indeed. As to content, I like you and your team’s unique content. Not that I don’t like the in’s and out’s of hotel status tricks or the latest airfare deal, or the newest credit card offers, far from it. Those are all important and form the basis of this points and miles world. But I enjoy the other side as well – choosing Travel With Grant versus Grants Trips (grant strips ?), rocking the Chime card back in the day, and the best thinnest wallet (Allett) to carry all twelve most frequently used credit cards! Keep the good works. Cheers. |
Kalboz | Happy anniversary TWG, Grant, Shelli, and all staff members. I usually like to read about redemption opportunities, tips, and tricks. We are a family of 4 and always travel together. Good luck to all :) |
Seth | This is no lie: every time I read about you going to a conference and you invite people to look for you in your TWG shirt, I always think to myself how I would love to have one of those shirts. So I guess my favorite topic is your famous TWG shirt…. |
I like a Travel with Shelli T better, haha
No shirt for you!
Thanks for the Friday morning laugh, Choi. That would be way toooo much pressure :) Have a great weekend!

I like the article on keep or get rid of Amazon prime. I am going through that decision right now.
Happy birthday!!! Woohoo!!! The post I liked the most recently was the post with the instructions on how to make viet coffee! I love love love iced viet coffee/asian milk teas in general and I’ve always wondered how to make it at home properly. Every time I make it, it comes out not tasting the same =(
Happy Birthday and thanks for a great blog! One of my favorite posts that helped me was……”Maximizing Miles with Stopovers, Open Jaws…” I learned lots about there value of stopovers. Made my points even more valuable. Keep up the good work!!!!!

I love your “Promotions + Deals” posts, and I promise that one day I’ll make the journey (from LA) to one of your OC meetups!
Happy 5th! I enjoyed reading all your timeshare articles.
Well, I don’t want to be greedy & try for another prize since I just won one of your $10 Amazon gift cards from the Mother’s Day contest so I’m not entering, but I did want to drop a line to wish you a very happy 5th blogiversary. Love getting my daily email blast of Grant. Thanks for all the great content. Always look forward to it.
Thank you Lauren, I appreciate the happy blogiversary wishes. Have a great weekend.
Happy Fifth Blog Anniversary and Congratulations!
I am not entering the contest, as I recently won an Amazon gift card.
Thank you Greg, I appreciate boogiversary good wishes. Have a great weekend.
Happy Birthday I like reading about stopover and credit card approvals. Keep up the good work. You are an honest blogger, unlike some of the other phony people

I have been a superfan, ie stalker and still remember back to the step by step GC loading at Walmart. Haven’t missed a single post since then. Wow, 5 years have been quick.
