Good morning everyone, happy Friday! According to the news, yesterday and today are 2 of the busiest travel days of the year (roughly 3 million people are projected to travel both days). If you are traveling this holiday season and especially if you are traveling with friends or family members, I highly recommend creating a second Gogo account. Let me explain why. A few days ago, I got the following email from Gogo regarding my 10 free Gogo passes for having an American Express Business Platinum Charge Card (if you have this charge card, I will show you how to get your 10 free Gogo passes below.)
I tend to fly Southwest Airlines often and they do not offer Gogo, so most of my Gogo passes expire at the end of the year. But of the few times when I am travelling on an airplane that offers Gogo, I am usually travelling with my girlfriend and Gogo only allows you to use 1 Gogo pass per flight. If you have more than 1 Gogo account, you can use passes from each Gogo account on the same flight. Pretty novel idea, right?
I logged into my primary Gogo account and I currently have 18 Gogo passes. 10 Gogo passes are from my American Express Business Platinum Charge Card and expire next year (12/31/2019). That means I have 8 Gogo passes that are expiring this year (12/31/2018).
You can enroll your American Express Business Platinum Charge Card into the Gogo Preferred Program here and get your 10 free Gogo passes.
You will then need to go to this page to get your 10 free Gogo passes. Enter your American Express Business Platinum Charge Card number and 4 digit security code (to prove that you have this card). You will then be asked to sign into an existing Gogo account or create a Gogo account. I highly recommend creating a new Gogo account so you can have Gogo passes loaded to both accounts. After you sign into your existing Gogo account or create a new Gogo account, your 10 free Gogo passes will be instantly loaded to your Gogo account. Just be aware, that you will have 12 months from the date you load the Gogo passes to your account, so I recommend doing this right before your next flight on a Gogo equipped airplane.
I almost forgot that my CNB City National Crystal Visa Infinite Credit Card also offers 12 free Gogo passes. Just go to the Visa Infinite portal.
If you have the CNB City National Crystal Visa Infinite Credit Card and want your 12 free Gogo passes, click here and enter your CNB City National Crystal Visa Infinite Credit Card number.
You will then be asked to sign into an existing Gogo account or create a Gogo account. I highly recommend creating a new Gogo account so you can have Gogo passes loaded to both accounts. As I mentioned earlier, the Gogo passes will expire 12 months from the date you load the Gogo passes to your account, so I recommend doing this right before your next flight on a Gogo equipped airplane. Here is my secondary Gogo account that shows the 12 Gogo passes will expire next year (12/20/2019).
Best case scenario, you and your family can both use Gogo passes on the same flight and you do not have too many Gogo passes that expire. Worst case scenario, when you use all the Gogo passes from 1 account, you just need to log into your other Gogo account and start using those passes. I really don’t see much downside by creating a second Gogo account. Your free Gogo passes should automatically post to your Gogo account around the same time every year.
If you have any questions about Gogo passes, please leave a comment below. Have a great day weekend everyone!
P.S. If you have a US Bank FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa Signature, you can get 10 free Gogo passes here. Both open and closed credit card numbers will trigger the 10 free passes.
Also, the Amex gogo certs are good on international flights and the CNB are domestic only.
Good to know. If you are flying domestically, can you select which Gogo pass to use? If so, it would be great to use the domestic only Gogo passes on domestic flights and save the international Gogo passes for international flights.
Yes. Gogo groups the passes by issuer and expiration date so you can easily pick the pass you want to use.
That’s great to know. So AMEX = International and Visa = Domestic Gogo passes.
also, if you have a droid or a laptop (but not an iphone), you can hotspot off wifi and use only a single pass. But it doesn’t look like you’re short on passes.
I think I used to do that back in the day when I had a jailbroken iPhone. But I have more Gogo passes than I can use.
Grant, the link doesn’t work anymore. Do you know if USBANK canned the benefit? I can’t find any reference in the CC application.
Which US Bank CC are you referring to?
