Get Awesome Condos for 13,500 Wyndham Rewards Points per Night.  In that post, I shared my recently booked Vacasa Vacation Rentals in Hawaii.  If you prefer hotels over condos, I have 2 great timeshare vacation packages available.  The first is with Hilton Grand Vacations and is available to the public.  The second is with Westin Vacation Club and looks targeted, but you can reach out to Westin Vacation Club to see if you are eligible.  I have experience with timeshare presentations and have stayed at a few of these properties before.  I will go through the booking process of each to show you what it is like, what is included, and how much it costs.

The first option is at the Hilton Waikiki Beach (on Oahu).  The price is $649 for 5 nights + 25,000 Hilton Honors Points.

The second option is at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club Ocean Tower Waikoloa Village (on the Big Island).  The price is $649 for 5 nights + 25,000 Hilton Honors Points.  I stayed at this property a few years ago and it is huge – so huge there is a monorail to get you from one end to the other.  If you want to stay at the resort all day and snorkel, kayak, paddleboard, play with dolphins, swim in the pools, go down the waterslides, etc. this place is for you.

The third option is at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club La Pacifica Los Cabos (in Mexico).  The price is $349 for 3 nights + 25,000 Hilton Honors Points.  I have not attended a timeshare presentation in Mexico or outside the US, so I am not sure what the process is like.  I have heard stories of all day presentations where you cannot leave until you sign something.  I would be cautious about this presentation.  Just something to keep in mind.

Going back to the first option at the Hilton Waikiki Beach (on Oahu), let’s continue doing a dummy booking to see what the booking process is like.  After tax, the total comes out to $765.56 for 5 nights + 25,000 Hilton Honors Points.  I value Hilton Honors Points at 0.5 cents per point (CPP), so 25,000 points = $125.  $765.56 – $125 = $640.56 / 5 nights = $128.11 / night.  That sounds like a great deal to me.  If you have the American Express Hilton Honors Aspire Credit Card, check to see if these properties code as a resort so you can use your $250 resort credit.  You can lock in your dates now or you can pick your dates later.

On the payment screen, you can use any credit card you want.  From past experience, I don’t think these purchases code as travel or Hilton, so you won’t earn bonus points with a Hilton credit card.

I didn’t go through with booking the timeshare vacation package, but the booking process seemed pretty easy.  The hardest part will probably be selecting your travel dates, which you should do as soon as possible before all the good dates are gone.

There are 2 properties available that are side by side: Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas North and Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas.  I’m not sure which property is better, but the amenities should be same and shared by both properties.

Once you select a property, you will see 2 different accommodations: Guestroom ($999 per stay) or One Bedroom Villa ($1,348 per stay).  Assuming you pick the 6 day Avis car rental option (worth a minimum of $300), your 5 night stay would be about $140 / night in the guestroom or $210 / night in the one bedroom villa.  Both sound like great deals to me.  Remember, Marriott elite status doesn’t get you anything at timeshare properties or on timeshare vacation packages, so don’t expect any upgrades or freebies during your stay.

I spent a few minutes trying to find availability for the guestroom, but couldn’t find it.  Perhaps the website had an issue or all the days were full.  I didn’t check the one bedroom villa or both room types at the other property.  You can lock in the deal and pick your dates later for $199.

Since I entered my PIN, my information was automatically filled in for me and I could not change any of the gray fields.  Like before, I don’t think buying this timeshare vacation package will code as travel or Marriott to earn you bonus points on a Marriott credit card.

If you do go with the $199 deposit, make sure you lock in your dates as soon as possible.  Each resort has very few dates throughout the year, so if you want to go at a good time, I would lock in the dates ASAP.

I am going to pass on both of these timeshare vacation packages since I currently have 3 Vacasa Vacation Rental reservations already scheduled for my upcoming trip to Maui and Oahu, but if you are looking for a great resort in Hawaii, these are great deals.  If I had to pick just 1 for a family, I would definitely go with the Hilton Grand Vacations Club Ocean Tower Waikoloa Village (on the Big Island).  You and your family will have a great time and there is so much to do to keep you entertained throughout your stay.

Just remember to stick to your guns and say no at the timeshare presentation.  I find them to be mostly interesting, with a scattering of white lies and half truths sprinkled in.  If you are familiar with Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors programs, you will probably be able to spot them from a mile away and don’t be surprised if you know more about the programs than the timeshare sales people.  One of my favorite things to do is call out their exaggerated points prices when the salespeople say that Hilton and Marriott points are worth 2 cents or more (ya, in what lifetime??).  If you have any question about either deal, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone!
