Good afternoon everyone, I hope your week is going well. Last month, I wrote Timeline of Barclays AAdvantage Aviator Red Credit Card 75,000 American Airlines Miles Sign Up Bonus and thought I would do a similar post on my American Express Hilton Honors Surpass Credit Card. I signed up for the credit card through the no lifetime language link on October 26 and was able to get the card approved by calling the American Express reconsideration department by closing my no annual fee American Express Hilton Honors Credit Card. The sign up bonus was 170,000 Hilton Honors points after spending $3,000 in 3 months. I received the card in the mail in early November.
I used my new Hilton credit card at the DoubleTree Hilton Seattle Airport hotel on November 6, the room charge posted to my credit card on November 8, and the $50 Hilton credit posted to my account on November 13.
I completed the $3,000 minimum spend requirement by late November and the $150 annual fee posted to my credit card on December 1.
My credit card statement closed 1-2 days later and I was surprised to see that the 170,000 bonus points were not listed on the credit card statement.
On December 4, I checked the Rewards Summary tab and saw the 170,000 point sign up bonus.
I then went to my Hilton account and saw that the points from the credit card statement posted in multiple transactions on December 3 (not sure why the points post separately) and then the 170,000 point sign up bonus posted on December 5.
