Good morning everyone. I just got an email from Citi regarding my Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Credit Card. Apparently, on my last statement that closed a few days ago, Citi forgot to mention that the annual fee will be billed the following month. I’m not sure if this is a regulation that credit card companies have to follow whereby they have to inform you 1 month prior to having the annual fee billed to your account or if that is just a courtesy most credit card companies follow. Either way, if you had planned to cancel your Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Credit Card before the annual fee posts to you account, you can call the number listed below. If you call, your credit card will be canceled.
When I logged into my Citi account online, I did not see any notification or message about the above email.
When I looked at my Citi Hilton HHonors Credit Card statements from late last year and early this year, I do see the annual fee message that was missing on my most recent credit card statement.
On the following statement, the $95 annual fee was billed to my account.
It will be interesting to see if Citi gets in trouble with the regulators about not warning customers. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some type of class action lawsuit/settlement over the missed annual fee message. If anyone has an annual fee billed soon, you might want to see if they can waive the annual fee this year as a good will gesture. I am going to wait and see what happens before doing anything. I have a few upcoming Hilton stays for my January trip to Europe (Hilton Munich City and Hilton Molino Stucky Venice) and I was recently upgraded to Hilton Diamond, so I am not cancelling my Citi Hilton HHonors Credit Card.

I also have the Citi Hilton Reserve card and the AMEX Hilton Surpass card. I still the 2 free week end night certificates from the Reserve card that will expire mid March. Do you happen to know if the free w/e nights have to be used by the expiration date or the certificates have to be used before the expiration date? In another word, can I book the w/e nights in June 2016?
I think they have to be used by that date (stay completed by that date).
Grant, quick question regarding hilton reserve. I paid my annual fee back in may/june. I’m close to meeting my $10k spend for the free night certificate. Will i get this once spending is met or do I have to wait till next years annual fee is paid?

The Certificates do need to be used by the due date. I didnt ise them as Id hoped in Maldives, but instead just did a local getaway at the WA near me (the nicest Hilton in my area). Ive heard that some have had success requesting points for their free nights (80k per night redemption to their HH account), but that is unconfirmed.
I find it hard to believe you can trade a free night cert for 80K HH points. That would be too good of a deal.
rather “used by Expiration date”. Try asking for 80k points per certificate -its worth a shot. Say you intended to ise them but bc of variois personal reasons, and as a loyal HH patron, you were unable. If no, HUPCA a cpl times.
