Plenti Smartphone App Review for iPhone and Android

Good morning everyone, I spent a few minutes playing around with the new Plenti app on my iPhone.  The app is built well and has all the features you would want to make your shopping and Plenti point accumulation process as easy as possible.  You can download the app here:

All screenshots are from an iPhone 6, but the process should be similar on other smartphones.  After you download the Plenti app, you can log into your Plenti account.  From the app you can see various Plenti offers, see your points activity, view your Plenti card bar code, and use points at checkout.  Let’s go through each section below.

Plenti Partner Offers and Household Offers are still confusing to me.  Why is one thing classified a partner offer and the other classified a household offer?  Both offers are only going to show items available from the 8 12 current Plenti partners.  I believe Partner offers can only be redeemed once, but Household offers can be redeemed multiple times.  You must manually add/activate each offer to your Plenti card and then scan your Plenti card at checkout to automatically receive the bonus Plenti points.

You can view your Plenti card from the app (similar to how the Starbucks app shows your Starbucks card).  The screen gets very bright and makes it very easy to scan the bar code.

You can view your Plenti points activity.  My mom has my Plenti card (hence the Macy’s and ExxonMobil purchases).  She was able to redeem 1,300 Plenti points for $13 off her ExxonMobil gas purchase made at the pump.  I also received an email with details of the Plenti point redemption.

Plenti Redemption Email

You can redeem Plenti points at checkout by showing your Plenit card bar code.  You need at least 200 Plenti points to use at checkout.

Here are the current 12 Plenti partners (I’m sure more will be added over the next few months).

I clicked on AT&T and here is what it shows in the Plenti app.  I can earn 1 Plenti point per dollar spent on AT&T products and services.  You must be enrolled in paperless billing.  Currently, you cannot redeem Plenti points for discounts on AT&T products or services, but I imagine that will change in the future.

I clicked on ExxonMobil and here is what it shows in the Plenti app.  I can earn 1 Plenti point per dollar spent on gas and 2 Plenti points per dollar on non-gas purchases.  You can easily redeem Plenti points at the pump for free gas.

I clicked on Macy’s and here is what it shows in the Plenti app.

  • For Macy’s credit card holders: you can earn 1 Plenti point per dollar spent on all Macy’s purchases and 2 Plenti points per dollar on beauty and fragrance purchases.
  • For non-Macy’s credit card holders: you can earn 1 Plenti point per $10 spent on all Macy’s purchases and 2 Plenti points per $10 spent on beauty and fragrance purchases.

Very sneaky Macy’s…

If you regularly shop at any of the Plenti partners, these are free points that are worth about a penny.  You might as well earn and burn when you can since there is no reason to hoard Plenti points.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone.

Hi, were retailers able to scan your Plenti barcode from your smartphone screen, or did they have to manually input your card number, or did you present your card?

I haven’t used the Plenti Card in a long time. My mom uses it when she buys gas and I think she just swipes the card before she swipes her credit card.
